Jill Scott Tried to Make A Bad Album on Purpose
Mar 12, 2024
Jill Scott joined Jemele for a wide-ranging, candid conversation about her musical career, the fears she has a black woman raising a black son, and the aspirations she has beyond music and performing. Jill also reflects on her debut album “Who is Jill Scott?” turning 20 years old and how the pandemic has forced her to create more balance in her life.

at Black Lilly or other venues.
I actually used to work in the Willow Grove Mall when she worked there and I heard quite a few of those lyrics and poems before they were set to music.
I highly doubt she attempted to make a "bad" album.

a lot back in 2000-05
Funny thing is I just finished 1st season of First Wives Club and its like her life story but I guess the album sucked instead of hitting number 1 like on the show.
