"Do you notice calorie counts at restaurants? Do they affect your choices..."

I was craving some nachos. But I saw that 1700cals next to it and turned the page on the menu.
I'm don't really watch what I eat, but that is just so excessive.

like if it's some pasta that's 1500 calories, i'll eat 40% of it and take the rest home for my next two lunches instead of just going until i'm completely stuffed

It's made me go with the lower-calorie option alot. Maybe most of the time I'm in those situations.

When I GrubHub and they offer that info, or get desperate during a hangover and hit the Wendy's up the block from me, I'll think something sounds interesting but order the old standby just because of the calorie/price ratio. I still only see a calorie count two or three times a month though I'd wager since I mostly eat at locally owned bistro and fine dining type spots where the whole idea is to relax and enjoy your meal not worry about its health ramifications.

Getting older and the fat is tougher to lose these days haha.

It's fine but at the same time I kinda hate it. If I'm in the mood for something I want to be able to get it and not have to feel guilty about that shit.

I also hate it cause calories are so variable. They're legit like a variable on top of a variable. Dependent on the person's metabolism, weight, height, body type, etc.

so if there's a big caloric difference between the two items I'm considering I'll pick the lower calorie option.

Yeah...definitely changing some choices

Recently out to eat...and my group was pointing out how ridiculous the calories were for a slice of carrot cake

SMH

...and people probably ordered it prior because they got the impression carrot might be healthy...

I use a calories tracker to track my calories, so it depends where I'm at for the day. If I'm deep into it, I'mma choose the restaurant based on calories, and I would have googled the calorie count prior.

i calorie count every day. But when i go out to eat i think of it as a cheat meal. But i will avoid those crazy 1800+ calorie meals. Like I aint touched biscuits and gravy for breakfast in a minute. Or a whole grandslam at dennys is like 1700+. So I just give my son the pancakes

I went to Cheesecake Factory for first time a few months back and everything on their menu 2k+ calories. it was crazy. had to order from the light menu which got negated by the cheesecake slice but it could've easily been worse.

You know they throw extra grease/butter/mayo/fat on things.

But it can help you keep the calories in a sane-ish area sometimes.

Where the calories are coming from are more important to me than how many. Things like rice & potatoes are two of my good calories, anything with HFCS I won't consume (for examples).

As the age goes up, the metabolism goes down. Not trying to get fat out here. It always helps to know. Especially for things like salads or starters you think are harmless but are actually sneaky fattening.

Trying not to worry about calorie, and concentrate more on what I’m eating. Been doing it for the past three months and feel great. Almost no bread, no dairy, very little sugar - and making sure protein and veggies get eaten.
