So I decided to watch this after hearing Gary Owens shit talk the movie on the Breakfast Club.
T.I. plays a Chef at a high class Restaurant who gets promoted to Head Chef at a different restaurant in Los Angeles but first has to stop in Atlanta to Visit his Sick Momma.
Epps plays TI's trifling older brother who is a (shitty) weed dealer and also does a shitty job of running the family chicken joint causing Tip to have to stay in town to get the restaurant back up to speed.
I can't really call T.I. a good actor, the entire time he has this giant smile on his face that says "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M IN A MOVIE" , (he's even smiling during the big shoot out scene at the climax!)but somehow his bad performance works and overall the movie ends up being funny and coming off as more heartwarming than your typical "Hood/Rapper" Movie
Anybody else watch this mess?

**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
it took a couple of run-throughs because I couldn't bear to sit down and give it my full attention, but Mike Epps's nuanced dumb-funniness will slip by you if you blink.
The movie doesn't take itself too seriously and I think that helped.
you pretty much summed it up...I'ma give it a 3rd/4th run this weekend while I'm cleaning up LOL
