Elizabeth Warren is making it part of her platform. Saying: "When Democrats next have power, we should be bold. We are done with two sets of rules—one for the Republicans and one for the Democrats," And that means when Democrats have the White House again, if Mitch McConnell tries to do what he did to President Obama, and puts small-minded partisanship ahead of solving the massive problems in this country, then we should get rid of the filibuster,"
Notably, she makes the caveat that it should be done when Democrats have power again. Should we get rid of all pretenses of coalition building and make it so that majorities rule almost absolutely when in power? Or should the filibuster remain in place such that major legislation will never be achieved without a substantial senate majority?
Or should the filibuster be harder to use so that it is only invoked on certain occasions and not just the default?
