Bill Burr a great standup.
Meanwhile, his podcast is brimming with Basic Bob hot takes.
There's a significant difference in format and message between standup comic and the talk show, even with the obvious crossover of comedy between the two.
Being a comedian isn't a shield from criticism for the views expressed his talk format.

Where they have prank calls, song of the week, preacher skits and a crazy letter of the day? That radio show?
Unless he has another show I have never heard any serious advice on his show. It’s all jokes with a sprinkle of serious advice. But it’s mostly jokes.
I know he had one book out and he is working on another one but the book was made into a movie and it was a comedy.
I just don’t think he is presenting himself like an expert. Just a loud mouth with an opinion and a large following of women listeners and readers... so he must be doing something right or they would’ve ignored his ass.

Because the the first answer was ridiculously stupid (as was the question, but whatevs). Maybe he was going for the joke, here, in which case... I guess.
The 2nd question wasn't *all* bad... but all the shit he says is super elementary and juvenile and in this case, where he went wrong was unfairly maligning that man. Who knows if he would've been a good father... we broke up so he's the boogeyman? Not what he said, of course, but you get what I mean. Sometimes things just don't work and in those cases, sometimes both parties are good people, damn. He is seemingly incapable of any nuance or shades of grey.
Aside from being steeped in Christian dogma and puritanical notions of how women should behave, so much of what he says lacks basic maturity.

The first question was idiotic to begin with. If that's her friend, try being an adult and having a conversation. She may not be "bragging", for starters, and may simply be excited about the good shit in her life without realizkng how it's coming actoss to those around her.
A simple conversation could expose a misunderstanding from both women and lead to new perspectives and a better relationship for everyone involved.
But Simple Steve offered up a cartoon. He laid out a cartoon solution to a real world problem.
A cartoon that won't resolve anything and won't help either woman, but it sure got those lulz.
Further, given that Steve is basically on some church elder shit much of the time, the "bragging" described can very easily be viewed as someone simply showing how "blessed" they are.
There are so many threads there, but Steve offered a cartoon script.
None of that changes what a stupid question it was to begin with, he didn't offer anything resembling a thoughtful, adult response.

Healthy relationships appear to be ones where this stage progresses to a deepening trust and understanding hopefully more or less equal to both parties. A process which must be messy to some degree since we are all flawed
The relationship that keeps the fun joy excitement etc. continuously nurtures the initial factors which led to it existing in the first place

Between my own Grandmother (who retired back in 87) and anecdotes from friends in the same age range, getting career advice from someone who hasn't been in the job market in decades isn't a good idea.
Some gems I've heard:
*Suggesting I storm into my bosses office and demand a raise or threaten to quit.
*Suggesting I look in the phone book and randomly call or better yet just walk into an office to see if they're hiring
*Write a letter to the head of the company to protest having to work weekends/evenings
*Suggesting I leave my (then) current job to go work in sales at a clothing shop because it's more "secure"
