"Ideas for Reparations- Free College, Free Child Care and Social Securit..."
I've been thinking about ways for the U.S. to compensate black people for our unpaid labor.
1) Free/low cost college for the youth - Every black kid can go to a publicly funded institution for free for 8 years. Undergrad and graduate for earners under $150,000.
2) Free/low cost child care for the child bearing aged - Every black family gets free child care for ages 0-5, (earners under $150,000)
3) Social Security percentage increases for the elderly- Every black person over the age of 65 gets a 40 percent interest bump, earners under $200,000.
Social Security Insurance credits could help by giving people of African descent an interest percentage bump after age 65. It could be income driven. Let's say by the time you turn 65, you get like a 50-60 percent increase in your pay out.
Most black people die earlier, file disability, and only earn on average $14,000/year from social security. This wouldn't cost much and we could easily project the costs in the next 30 years.

No subprime loans either
No money down, no apr for the first 5 years on 15 year loans
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
The only thing that I would be in pursuit of is tax exemption for at least the next 100 years. We could build wealth over this time period and start giving future generations equal footing.

i think the multi angle approach is needed *and the only way u gonna get close to actually matching the total cost that is needed
but there gotta be more than 3 types of "fixes"...more like 30 cuz there are all kinds of subsets of black america that dont fit into one group or another, and all solutions dont help every demo
