why is the binary star album(s) light years apart so dope?? the whole album samples binary star lyrics or reuses lines and it works sooooo well. it also works great when he reuses/samples other rappers lines in it.
who else has done this well? i know a lot of rappers samples other rappers but how many sample themselves? nas comes to mind.

Did it all the time with gang starr
and he would always cut lyrics from his older productions into his new works
i thought it was a genius way of getting other labels to have to pay him to license his own shit lol. but maybe he did it because he wouldn’t have to clear

It was just easier to use those songs he produced or artists he's worked with numerous times, cause it would be less problems, but, BUT, what I remember from an interview he did, Premier uses vocals he remembers hearing songs from often is basically what it boils down to, he wasn't do it on purpose to pick songs he produced or artists he's worked with before.

Which is great as they were dope lyrics in the first place.
I love when this type of resampling of the rappers lyrics are done. I think it tends to be older school mc’s who do it.. Let’s not have Lil Uzi Vert start thinking his rhymes are worth revisiting.
