Instrument players no longer needed to hire a whole band to get an album done. Now that sax player can get a lone producer/beatmaker and wank all over that wack track without worrying about a band.
Didn't watch the doc, just how I remembered it as a jazz head kid seeing the transition.

There's a song that 94.7 The Wave used to aaaaalways play. It was all instrumental, Smooth Jazz, and....I can't hum the melody for y'all, but it was kind of upbeat, in a major key for sure. I might just have to play the melody and record it, because I'm sure no one could just guess what it is...but I've legit been trying to find it for 15 years now. Not even because it was amazing, but just because I never knew who made it!
