Nearly dozed off a couple times at my desk.

Alchemist was god, more of an EP.

I don't really care about Meek, but people are mad about the song with him Jay and Ross so I might as well see what the fuss is about.

great. only one problems.

why did they spell it ray instead of rey mysterio???????

only song that might not stay in rotation but it is still a pretty good song.

roman candles is flames (heh), more roc and thought please.

mac 10 wounds gets even better with the beat change.

e. coli might have me skipping on romaine but definitely has me interested in that earl sweatshirt album.

Wins & Losses was my favorite of his albums.

I'm digging Championships so far. I've had on repeat for the last five or six hours. Can't turn it up too loudly since I'm in my office and don't feel like closing the door.

Decent features too especially the joint with him, Rozay, and Jay.

Jay let it be known that he and Ye aren't to be separated regardless of the red hat.

In the land of the free, where the blacks enslaved
Three-fifths of a man, I believe's the phrase
I'm 50% of D'usse and it's debt free (Yeah)
100% of Ace of Spades, worth half a B (Uh)
Roc Nation, half of that, that's my piece
Hunnid percent of Tidal to bust it up with my Gs, uh
Since most of my niggas won't ever work together
You run a check up but they never give you leverage
No red hat, don't Michael and Prince me and Ye
They separate you when you got Michael and Prince's DNA, uh
I ain't one of these house niggas you bought
My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours
My spou- (C'mon, man)
My route better, of course
We started without food in our mouth
They gave us pork and pig intestines
Shit you discarded that we ingested, we made the project a wave
You came back, reinvested and gentrified it
Took niggas' sense of pride, now how that's free?
And them people stole the soul and hit niggas with 360s, huh

They gon' have to kill me, Grandmama, I'm not they slave
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, check out the bizarre
Rappin' style used by me, the H-O-V

Sold drugs, got away scot-free
That's a CC, E-copy
Guilt free, still me
And expect me to not feel a way to this day
You would say y'all killed me
Sucker free, no shuckin' me, I don't jive turkey
Say "Happy Thanksgiving," shit sound like murder to me
Smoke free, all of y'all callin' out toll free
Label rob you for millions yet you wanna put a hole in me

i had to search for "meek mill chamionships" on my phone. if i did just meek mill or championships it wouldnt show.

for the problem - s2 i did have to scroll down a bit. i think i also wasnt able to find fever back in like september when i made the switch to google music. it definitely is wonky. you would expect google to have search down.

my thoughts on the earl album from the lesson post:

this guy's patterns are unreal. he's definitely not as wordy as he's been in the past and he's slant rhyming more but i think that gels well with the very naked loops that he's rapping over. dialing it back a little and letting more space in his flows makes his words a little more easier to pick out amidst these dusty and muddy loops. and he's still conversational and presenting full images to the listener while rapping in these long form patterns. AND he's rapping in unconventional time signatures on a few songs. there are occasions when i think no one is better than earl and he causes me to feel that way several times on this album

i want to add that he's more impressionistic on this album, likely due to his focus on brevity, and that's a good thing for earl. we've heard him pack bars with syllables and it's kind of astonishing that he can keep that same earl vibe while using fewer words. "the mint" is immediately a top 5 earl song. it's currently my favorite song of the year but recency bias is probably a big reason for that

ski mask should be better than he is but on stokeley he's bogged down by bad beats and unnecessary features. it feels like a record label album, whereas his last project (which had some killer songs) was more indie mixtape. juice wrld's feature is only memorable for his shouting. idk why ski is doing songs with lil baby other than baby is super popping and can get his album a few extra looks. "foot fungus" is fire though. it's a modern take on "drop it like it's hot" with standard ski rapid fire bars.

came out on monday but i didn't see any posts about it

a tiring amount of technical rhyming wizardy over mostly awful washed beats. also has asap ferg on hook duty for some reason. J.I.D can definitely rap but he's also insistent on proving that he can rap for 99% of the record. when he slows down a little like he does on "working out" and "despacito too" he shines as a writer. but he can't help himself and ends both those songs with dense flows that add nothing and in fact detract from the experience

i think this guy will eventually put out a great album but not until he learns to tone it down a little. we know you can rap, J.I.D!
