The anti-Pac sentiment was largely an only-on-OKP thing anyway (and I say that as someone who could take or leave Pac).
I get the impression most of the kids today, aside from the few Heads among them, couldn't care less about the old standards or about digging into any of the music from before maybe the year 2005, or so.

...no sane person would put Biggie or Pac over greats like Rakim, G Rap, Kane or KRS ...Biggie was one thing, but most NYC/TriState heads didnt care much for 2Pac, that goes for Radio & Mixtape DJ's Underground or Commercial ..Pac didnt get props over here
with LL Cool J considered as honorable mention for versatility and longevity (this last being one of my favorite arguments because most will reject it then have to defer when actually hearing the case for it)

I think it was a combination of distance form their deaths allowing for a more sober analysis of their careers and the fact that other legitimate GOAT candidates emerged (Jay, Nas, etc.)

Snoop, Jay or Nas right? That is, dudes who have been doing it well for 20 years. It's crazy to have the discussion about dudes with so short a catalouge. Am I right?!?!

it made more sense as an argument then than it does now, but honestly it should be the other way around because these discussions get more clear and legitimate over time.
