"Black consumers,at 14% of pop., generate 85% of the haircare mkt sales"

Which is probably underestimated by a few billion

I thought that tens of thousands a year hair maintenance cost was a crazy exception from the chris rock documentary but this video reinforces it

But the bigger problem than overall spend, is how little of that number is spent with black businesses

If/as the weave industry shrinks, will the Asian beauty supply monopoly shrink as well?
Can anyone recommend products/websites they buy from? I know bevel is one, but out of most folks price range

WATCH VIDEO-

I saw a video for black dude lace front afro hairpiece wigs.... everybody was hyped how real/amazing it looked, but my immediate thought was, "I bet that shyt is made in China. (And for those reasons... im out.)".
& by the end of the video I was proven correct, smh.

And there was also that video of the women going back to the beauty supply store right after the male worker slapped the black lady or something... They tried to start a boycott, but the owner gave a 50% discount instead, so obviously folk couldn't stay away
$$$$$$$$$$$

African-American men and women spend billions of dollars on their hair, but U.S. beauty care companies are missing out.
Mintel values the black hair care industry at more than $2.5 billion, but that statistic doesn't include products such as hair accessories, wigs or electric styling products. So, the industry is actually worth much more.

been rocking with them for a few years.

i like the form products from walker & company/bevel but it is a bit more than i want to spend....plus oyin can be found at retail stores much easier.

i also have some of the doux products which can be found at target. they are new and up & coming.
