got a call from my mother that her last living brother has cancer. The uncle that I’m close to...that’s always lived with us. Most folks know him as my drunk uncle, “slick rick” He’s the coolest. Hood legend. everyone loves him. He’d pressed all my friends...when he’s drunk. They loved it. he’s always been smooth. But yeah, my mother said she’s preparing for it. I need to as well...

I’ve been thinking a lot about being older. Although I’m a finished woman - I haven’t figured out what my legacy will be...should be. Like. in the event of death, what have I established for my son...grandkids

I’m beginning to realize how fu*ked up the world is. People crazy. Coming from a smaller city, with close friends and a tight knit family didnt prepare me to deal with such harsh and cruel people.

My new thing...puzzles. My mother does them all the time. Now I can see why. My son said I’m turning into her. I am! Except, I work on mine while drinking wine...

They trife as hell and it’s too far. Just have to make sure we find one that’s better. It’s so far by the time we get home it’s dinner, bath bedtime.

I’m fat.

Not really but I been eating a ton of salads for lunch but when I don’t eat a salad.. I be EATIN’

Finally drank some beer this weekend and it tasted good

Wife is stressing over work and talking about going back to higher ed. We are only been 5 weeks in. She does this every time but I will do the “huh, what?, say word?” but damn man... every job has some bullshit with it. Don’t let it ruin your week.

I get my birthday off at the job. One of the many perks. I ain’t mad. They also put up my Purple Rain poster. These fools haven’t seen it tho.. I turned my nose up at all of them. Smh.

How sway?

Somedays I want us to work...other days I enjoy being by myself.

She did something this morning (admitted that she could have communicated something better) that took me by total surprise, and it has me on the "yeah...we can make this work" side of the fence.

And as optimistic as I am, I just know it wont last.

I think about my "next lifetime" alot. Not cause I wanna get with her, or wanna check her out whenever I come home. But I just wonder how someone SEMMINGLY so dynamic is still single. Maybe she figured it all out. My sister gave me her Panthers vs Saints MNF tickets, and the first person I thought about taking was *her*. Then I came to my senses and if I don't take wifey, it'll be the kid. Jeez Tully...get it together.

The kids last softball game is today, so there goes that ego boost out the window, lol.

I havent listened to Piano and A Microphone yet. I'm scared. I only just started reading books about him last year. I'm finishing up Toures' book now. It got better as it went on, but the inaccuracies? Jeez...

Still kinda pissed at my homie about the website. At this oint I don't even say "me and my homeboy got a website". It's "yeah, so...i got the website and.." I do all the social media for it, I add all the content, I update it every week with new releases. I pay for it....but he wants to try to give ideas on what stories to put on...and when ask for follow up? Crickets.

I avoid talking about bad shit...all she wants to talk about is bad shit, to get over the bad shit....where I look at talking about bad shit as keeping bad shit going.

If something happened 8 years ago, whats the point in bringing it up again and again? Closure? There's no such thing. Only acceptance.

Thats prolly the main sticking point. That and her lack of responsibility and my selfishness

Had a portion of the $ talk with my son, he's been on ghost mode since.

I didn't even go in on him so he wouldn't be defensive just so I could hear his thought process and perspective.

Had to bite my tongue after hearing his "plan" - his world perspective is so naive. I did offer some advice I know he won't follow up on but it's on him.

I did make it clear I thought it was bullshit that he was cool with ducking his responsibilities here and that he wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't family.

Whatever money he does contribute I am just going to save and not touch.

Move back to Augusta with his (ex?) girlfriend.

He had just started work...aint even got a paycheck from the job yet...and now he's back in the situation he was before. Staying with his lady and aint got no money to contribute. I told him if you wanna bounce, I get that, but you need to have some money saved up....and a JOB waiting on you. He decided his "peace of mind is more valuable than trying to save money"

ahite nigga...

*I knew he was thinking about it, but I wanted to talk to him before he did it to make sure it was done properly. Momma was blindsided...that's one I'll take to the grave..

that's rough bouncing with no warning. How's his Mom taking it?

I told mine when this whole you will pay rent situation started, if you are late there's a fee. If you are late two times in a row, your normal rate goes up $50. You have to give us 30 days notice if you are leaving.

He ain't gonna to follow it (the leaving notice 30 days out) but I wanted to make sure he had some real world consequences to this and heads up to us.

My main man's plan to not get exposed by his wild years was to write a tell all book before he seeks office so that they wouldn't have anything on him (funny thing is I think that worked for Obama when it came to cocaine use).

They were sort of half-jokes but we are seeing this play out in real time.

I know those types of guys and how they party and the truth is that it won't be anyone from his fraternity or inner circle that will give him up. They all big shots and have a lot to lose by saying they were there and they saw what was going on. It will be people who only tangentially know him. Men or women who came to a party or two and were appalled but kept it to themselves because it seemed so normal to everyone else in the environment.

I've been schooled by my parents, uncles, teachers, coaches and dudes in the neighborhood since I can remember that cops will fuck with you, arrests are a way to get you into the system and don't go away, etc.

If someone takes the time and energy to try to conceal their wrongdoing at the time that they are doing it then they know damn-well that there are consequences. I mean, there was a reason that it was kept secret all these years, right?

I don't by the childlike naivety, and complete lack of personal accountability and awareness that people use to excuse their actions.

i have friends, but we all are so damn busy with everyday life its hard to get together.
i miss having friends to kick it with. it probably wouldnt be that bad if i had friends, or at least a few cool people at work.

shit, my office is dead as fuck. right now, there's 5 people in here including myself - one old ass white lady, one mid age white lady, one young white lady and one sista.
i could literally go an entire workday without talking to anyone. If it wasnt for youtube, breakfast club interviews, and OKP, i would go nuts in here lol.

just sits on his phone the entire time instead of kicking it. Aside from him, many of the guys I know here don't drink. So, it's pointless to hit a bar with them. And the ones that do drink have issues with some of the places I prefer to be in. Basically, I'm not always about hitting up the Windsor, Corinthians, or other lil local spots that don't serve the liquor I want to invest in or provide the atmosphere that I want to be in.

I just pour up by myself in the house. And low-key get jealous when the wife going out to kick it with friends or with her coworkers.

I just don't get it. MoFo's complain about the Jerk in the White House an then act just as childish in this house over little things. Jokers want absolute authority.

The wife and I are moving to a new APT. We're not ready for a house yet. He has the loot saved and the income, but we haven't decided if we want to stay in GA or even the country, so we're keeping our options open. But COT DANG the RENT in GA is getting out of control. This morning the news said that 89% of the new apartments built in the Metro Area are classified as Luxury Apts. CRAZYTOWN!

We can't spend this kind of loot on an APT for too long. We either have to buy or make some other decision about where to live. I don't want to be tied to a house and then decided to jet.

The wife is on that - When are we gonna have a Baby? I know, I know it's part of the deal. I talked her into starting to try next May on our anniversary.

44 is starting to catch up with me. The body doesn't heal as fast, and I'm starting to put even more ZEROS behind my levels of caring. LOL

If we didn't have kids....knowing what we know NOW....we would have absolutely zero qualms about being home owners vs. renters. I hate that the whole "stigma" is even a thing honestly. In large epensive metropolitan areas (DC, NY, ATL, etc.), actually OWNING a home outright is just not a realistic thing to expect from ANYONE middle class or lower that is getting into the housing market in it's current state.

What are the prices like for renting single family homes down there?

White couple.

They might’ve been spies.

They never seemed comfortable. She was always in a rush, yelling at the pets or just complaining. He didn’t seem like he had any balls. One time he was blowing leaves in the thunderstorm.

No for sale sign, no landlord stopping by, they were breaking stuff down with a sledgehammer.

'talking things out' to someone else
in fact....the exact opposite happens...I feel 10 x's worse

so naturally...I bottle things up...been doin it all my life...
that presents it's own set of problems

I've always been religious....so yeah...I've talked to the big guy...but the big guy isn't the best communicator...so it's like tossin a message in the bottle and waiting by the beach for the bottle to come back with an answer

I use to have close (lady) friends who I could 'vent' to...due to life changes and people dealing with their own, we haven't been as close

My homeboys NEVER understood....so it's pointless talkin to them...we don't handle/view/approach things the same way...never have

Idk...

lemme go listen to the Commodores 'Zoom'

i was really set on sticking to owning (and "borrowing") all my music and keep it local. having instant access to basically every albums is like whoa though. not worrying about suspicious links or having to deal with stupid pop ups or if the track list is right is nice.

im thinking i will stick to streaming and still buy albums i really want to support.

just wish i could have a playlist with more than 1000 songs.

It’s so ancient to buy physical copies.

Don’t get me wrong, I get it but like you said, you can stream AND buy physical albums.

You are just buying an extra album every month but it’s a magic that plays damn near whatever you want.

but that’s because I have so many other shows streaming

Sports radio had a host talking about how he would never watch Netflix... he sounded dumb as fuck. Like he will watch some dumb show on cable but Netflix is some emo shit.

He’s a meat head but still, he had no real reason besides sounding stupid about it.

“I’m not watching Netflix, nooo”

and y’all streamers sound the same way

“I love music but I ain’t streaming”

Okay. You still searching for a CD/album while I have the whole catalog up and it’s mobile.

looks like i finally saw the light on music streaming.
