Should the shopowner let them just walk out? Maybe. Though we do have the concept in the US of the Shopkeepers privilege where a storeowner can detain someone who has stole something their store for a reasonable amount of time. If this were best buy and the women were accused of stealing would they be swinging on the retention officer?

Do I *have* to stop for store security or employees that are trying to restrain me? What if they are falsely-accusing me, and I don't have time for that shit... would I be within my rights as a citizen to free myself from their imprisonment, even if it took violence?
Just wondering. I get the concept, but I'm just not cool with anyone trying to control me, especially if I haven't done anything illegal. I'm not stopping and emptying my pockets for some smug dickhead (riffing off of afrogirl_lost's post below). I got places to be. I'm out.
