Ultimately, I agree with getting rid of the term, b/c like I stated elsewhere we end up acting like it's just the poor ones. We shouldn't even need the word "trash" to think "racist" when we hear the word "white" since white folks created the hierarchical race system which is, of course, racist.
The only thing I don't really like is the beginning of the article where she's trying to present this as if poor white people got it so bad, especially in their television depictions segment. I have zero time for that when you have to dice white people up into classes, but I stay pointing out how Black folks get horrible depictions in shows.
Also, the woman who wrote this is biracial (Black and Jewish). She's written an article about it:

She also wrote an article on code-switching where she chose to include a very interested quote:

I think it's important that the statement "I get offended when people assume that I'm only black or that I'm only into black things. For example, they assume that I must be into black men" was included here. Not just the fact that Black men are "things" but that she chose that quote is significant. A LOT of these Black women who write on race for these publications are constantly dog whistling to white men, and one of the most common tactics they use is to shit on Black men... because white men who date Black women tend to prefer that you do that, and obviously it's effective, b/c so many of them do it. Think Crystelyn Karazin or Yesha Callahan of The Root. It's sad that anyone would stoop so low, but hey, that's where we are.
She's written multiple articles about the subject of biracial people in general. That's not necessarily problematic in itself, but her confusion is very clear to me from the stuff she writes. It's very easy to be confused as a biracial person tho, because you easily end up fighting FOR white supremacy while claiming to fight against it, because you're trying to protect the feelings of one of your parents... or friends, SO or whatever. Speaking of cinema earlier, Hollywood's pairing of Black women (especially biracial Black women) with white men could be influencing how she's seeing things in that regard as well. She thinks Black people have "made it" so now she's gotta ride for poor white folks lol.
