Kinderguardians sounded like a good idea? Really.
The Walsh dude did an interview saying conservatives are east targets because they love their guns and their flag.
Well... yeah. If you love those things more than human life you will sound like an ass all the time.

I was so weirdly moved by what she did - she didn't necessarily agree with his concept but she didn't want to stand in the way of his "art". Not too sure why she did that on camera though.

TL;DR: After watching each of the first three sketches (especially the first two) I was left wondering "What's the point?"
Nothing was really accomplished in the Bernie Sanders segment except Cohen showing a character designed to be a buffoon act like a buffoon. And with the NPR cis-gender male character was pretty much the same, except the left side of the spectrum. Nothing that Cohen did make the Drumpf supporting couple look especially bad beyond that they organized for Drumpf. The whole sketch was Cohen trying to shock them.
The third sketch about the prison artist went on waaaaay too long, and wasn't funny at all, but at least it had a pay-off or "point." It was all leading up to the hostess giving him some pubic hair. And, okay that's something and shows that art critics or gallery owners can be simultaneously pretentious and clueless. Or something.
The Kinderguardians is what the show should be about: getting assholes in power and those who lobby for power to look like complete clowns and shitheads. Which it did. So that's good.
The only problem is that what made the Ali G Show work well was shame: the people who ended up saying awful shit on camera felt ashamed afterwards. The problem now, nearly 20 years later, is that these people Cohen is talking to have no shame. All the angry responses from guys like Rohrabacher haven't been "I didn't mean that," they've been, "I'm angry that you tricked me. Only Joe Walsh has tried to say that he didn't really think kindergartners should be armed.
So, yeah, this show needs some work. He got the last sketch right, but needs to beyond just acting outlandish to get a reaction out of non-politicians and lobbyists.

I guess that's enough in the modern age, though. People will see the one good segment on social media or whatever, then maybe buy a showtime subscription, then they can be disappointed by the rest of the episodes.
I'm not complaining. I'm actually glad I've kept my Showtime subscription (which I only got for Twin Peaks). But if it's really just a ten minute show, they might as well structure it that way.

What was so special about Ali G Show, more than what you said, was that Ali G felt like a real person who was genuinely curious about the world, only his ideas were so small in scope and his understanding of what makes the world work so limited that he was an endlessly charming portrayal of urban London. These new characters are just caricatures, and for a guy who created three such iconic characters two decades ago it's kind of a let down to see all four of them A) be not that endearing on their own terms (this was another thing about Ali, Bruno and Borat - you liked them, even if their guests didn't) and B) seemingly way more in on the joke than those characters were.
I dug the art gallery thing but mostly because I've known women that act like that woman and I was really caught off guard by her willingness to be down for anything. But it didn't necessarily fit the mood of the show.
They don't seem to be putting clips on Youtube the way HBO does and Youtube.tv was just a week-long trial so unless I can find another way to catch this latest episode I doubt I'll see more any time soon. I can't subscribe to an entire network just for this show; I would've for Ali G.

If a bigoted yokel like this one, who also proclaims southern pride but is really from Nebraska, can win election in a district which is 46% White, 45% Black, and 8% Latino, there's seems to be a problem with how votes are solicited.
The Dems need to differently to promote candidates like her, especially in the south, where the U.S. has the most concentrated Black population. I'm always confused (not really) how the south is always politically red.

None of these fools would have had a clue. Hence Palin and others crying about being caught out after the trailer but before the first episode had been aired.

It's easy to forget those three characters were only in 18 episodes spread across four years. The perfect amount of low profile exposure for those characters to take advantage of the people too busy/out of touch/unwoke enough to not take notice of who or what they were. This show is following the same premise, though with social media and what not I'm sure this is the only time we see any of them outside of pure satire going forward.

Specifically the IDF/Mossad. Pretty sure they wouldn't listen to an actual terrorism expert if they said something even remotely disagreeable like "actually, two decades of killing people in Central Asia isn't great for winning hearts and minds."
But they will gladly get ass naked for this guy.

The stuff with the NPR guy were both duds. Again, there wasn't much of a point to either sketch/set-up. Goofy white people rapping or reacting to rap hasn't been funny in over 30 years. Don't know why Cohen would try to mine for humor there. And the meeting with the congressman and Bone Crusher was even more pointless.
As said before, the show is at its best when making stupid people look stupid. Merely trying to get a rise out of people with ridiculous behavior is just dull.
