I shudder at the thought looking back on it, but back in the day she hitchhiked and picked up hitchhikers all the time. I don't even really mean in the 60s and 70s when it was commonplace either, I'm talking late 80s and 90s she was still doing that shit (picking them up, at least).

So that's a long way of saying yea - I think she'd have been straight as an Uber driver. She was not to be messed with, so I wouldn't have worried too much about her, at least during the day.

funny. I’ve never asked why. I will when she gets here...

I don’t think it’s anything tragic because my grandparents didn’t drive either. In fact, I don’t recall any of my one generation family members having cars. My dad always kept him a Lincoln tho. his side of the family was different...hard working, way back in the woods, country folk. They got up north and lost they minds lol

my mama side, we WALKED. To this day my mother still walks everywhere. We’ll wake up and she’ll be gone. She walked my son everywhere too.

Pretty much unable to get anywhere unless you could tell her "it's past the Target but before you get to the bank" or something.
