Famous spot with great breakfast and lunch food. Po' Boys, "debris", etc. Really good.

Assuming you're into seafood, and if you want a really nice yet expensive dinner, GW Fins is legit a top 5 meal I've ever had.

Pat O'Brien's is famous and it's fine but at least stop in there for the gator bites. Sounds weird but they are tremendous.

Don't wait in the line, bypass it, walk inside and find an empty table.

As far as suggestions, pace yourself, you'll have a difficult time finding food that's not delicious. Even gas station chicken is excellent...

I was staying at an AirBnB for a couple weeks earlier this year, by St. Roch Park.
So, the St. Roch Market. All delicious food in there, but this was probably my favorite vendor https://www.neworleans.strochmarket.com/fritai

However, the place that really held me down, maybe 7 blocks away deeper in the hood, in the back of a bodega, https://goo.gl/maps/sgNenMFrjRP2, at a deli counter, was an Sis named Ms. Verna. I'm sure most neighborhoods have someone like her, but allll of her food is all that.
