... time... It wasn't until I lost my friend 3rdi from here that I began to realize how oblivious that attitude is to the reality.
once you experience your own fallibility and certain things that open your eyes to your naivety you begin to realize how many preconceived notions you have and finally begin to come to terms with the reality of doubt... decisions happen constantly and in split seconds and it only takes one bad one.

Also like someone else said, Christianity also plays a huge part.
Suicide is considered the worst sin
A friend on FB who is woke as fuck used the word selfish and caught all types of hell. I think when parents hear about a mother or father committing suicide when they have kids who aren't 18 yet, folks get angry.

but when it happens close to home our empathy takes over
I sued to have the same feelings about it but these last 3 years I lost 3 people to it. 2 due to drug addiction and my younger cousin who was 16 at the time.
My cousins younger brother is Lee Thompson Young. She started a foundation in his name but she also has an adopted daughter who suffers from mental illness. We are still trying to figure out what signs we missed and how to make sure we see them in the future and get folks the help they need.
