I would be there every Tuesday morning before they opened to cop the latest CDs.
I remember when Reasonable Doubt dropped, Tevin Campbell's back to the world album had come out and he was in store signing CDs. There was a long ass line outside the store. I was like 'damn, all these people here to get the Jay-Z album" LOL.

there was a Waxie Maxie's right across the lot from Security Mall.
In fact, I saw The Roots perform right in that parking lot when illadelph halflife came out.

I remember the day Ghostface put out the Pretty Toney Album and walking to the nearest record store before going to class (this was an indy rock-ish place that carried hip hop) and just getting blank stares. So I had to walk another 15 or so blocks and miss class to find a store that had it, and picking up something else that I hadn't even known was out yet ("Sitting Around Keeping Score" by Spymob.)

At the time I was frustrated, but it's a little bit of a bummer knowing future generations will never even have stories like this.

I think the last CD I purchased was Game Theory - not even sure why, because I was already pirating music heavily by then.

But at that time, I could look at my CD collection and tell you when and where I bought just about each one from.

I had a circuit city credit card. I remember going in there one day and buying like 10 CDs at once.

I miss the days of reading the liner notes while listening to the album.

I had Spotify and then got a 6 month trial for Tidal. I spent that 6 months switching back & forth. At the end, I stuck with Spotify. I like their Playlists and I *really* like the way they make suggestions based on my listening habits.

But I understand Tidal has some features that appeal to other folks. I say try them both & make the best choice for yourself.

I stayed as the quality of the UI/UX improved and as the content evolved.

Now, I won’t leave til they kick me off.
