then wake up and do it again
I can't even imagine how hard dudes are going when they are doing arenas and making real money.

but I got free tickets from my coworker who was preggers to see Madonna at Yankee Stadium 6 years go (never seen the 4 train at night more zesty) (almost cried during Like a Prayer AND WHAT)
Avicii opened up and I had just started hearing about him from a dude that would give me hundreds of free dubstep songs he ripped off the internet. So he was big on some Skrillex levels.
But back then he was 22, opening for Madonna. Maybe he had to fuck her to open, who knows. But imagine the trajectory, dude says he started touring at 18, four years later he's opening for Madonna on her world wide tour. Three years later he calls it quits on touring. Imagine how fast this kid is living where at 25 he's like 'nah I need to chill and get right'.
Anyways goes to show the industry doesn't give a shit about you.

I mean who knows how he got a gig opening for Madonna (she is pretty keyed into the dance scene though - and always has been) - but I see nothing wrong with anything else you said.
Imagine having an addiction problem and literally all the drugs and booze at your disposal you can handle - it's so fucking sad. I wouldn't say the industry doesnt give a fuck, but it's not exactly concerned with whether or not you may have a problem - and it ignores the red flags of those partying too much. Touring has directly and indirectly caused so many deaths (Prince just ran his body into the ground, which led him to opiates) - it was promising he realized the trappings and decided to stop.

... would argue that drugs have sparked the creativity necessary to create some of the biggest hits in music/art history. Shit I'd even argue that to an extent. So that just compounds the reluctance to help these artists.

that's the main thing I was trying to say. Granted, there were plenty of musicians from our parents' generation dying at 27 y.o. Living fast and dying young is nothing new.
but for this guy being in a scene night after night that incorporates recreational drug use on top of alcohol for anxiety control and social lubricant, whatever else, just sounds rough. I don't think his promoters or hangers-on or enablers had too much concern, but that's just conjecture.
If they don't have strong family influence the industry will eat young people up. (again have no idea about Avicii's personal life I'm just talking)

Like you gotta figure that his VIP room was stocked to the brim with vodka and at least three drug dealers, with everyone from building mgmt to other dj’s wanting to do a shot or a line and feeling a ways if he says no cause its youse the party nigga, why the fuck they paying you?
On top of that tour money. When ya that big you got dozens of families that are eating off ya career from ya techs to lighting dudes, etc.
