I used to like hanging out in the woods in the dark by myself.I would hear/compose music in the ambient sound of airplanes and distant cars, wind in the trees n such.

closest I have to that is sitting on the patio at night w/my laptop in Riverside. Starry night sky, sounds of the freeway, the night critters....spirits...substances...cool to compose to.

maybe a little darker but it's really just about being still and listening and from what you describe you got that.
I won't have any part of darkness. I comfortable with solitude but, in a house tho...The other day I was thinking about how much I dislike night time. I need to see what's out there.
