I think I did Curlbox. it 25/month. I was hoping that it would prevent my wife from spending so much money on hair products that she would end up not using. It didn't. She still bought stuff that she tried out once and left to accumulate in the office. What made matters worse is that the curlboxes would come and piled up before she opened them. Aftre about 4 months I canceled that shit like Nino Brown
Back in the day 10,000 villages was my go to. So many unique gifts.

she's totally anti-stuff, everything is an overindulgence and unnecessary clutter to her - she wants to donate her whole life away lol
but i can get away with health and wellness, naturally organic kinda items she's into that, or even fitness tech i started her w a fitbit back in the day and graduated her to an apple watch - those were both hits
experiences have been my best gifts so far - glass blowing class, kayaking, whale watching, pottery class, travel
plants/flowers and pictures of us have worked well too
she enjoys the jewelry and like items I buy her, cause it's coming form me, but I know she doesn't really want it. doesn't want clothes etc
i'm looking at a couple subscription boxes i think will be a hit
this post was only halfway about her tho - also for the ppl to get some good ideas out there a la Buddy_G up there, plus I always need good ideas for my mom too etc
why not a gift card to her favorite store I hear the ladies love Walmart....
You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

We're going to ATL for the weekend which was kinda planned for her bday, but I still gotta get her a few lil things. Already planned a facial for her at the hotel for while we're there. Also planning a couple tours that she wanted to do.

20. "actually I have lol" In response to Reply # 19 Thu Apr-12-18 12:29 PM by dba_BAD
I'm glad I tried it, but probably wouldn't repeat - or maybe I'd try a different place
I think I "get" it, it just didn't do a whole lot for me
And even tho I know it's not the point I wanted the water to be warmer lol
I think for me personally I feel more relaxed, restored, checked in, checked out whatever after an hour of some other wellness activity instead - massage, hot tub
But it's cool in terms of experiencing something new - like I said I'm glad I tried it, and the people who love it often say you need to experience it a series of times to really get into it, which may totally be the case
idk if that counts as sticking to the budget but oh well lol
perfect for her - all consumables, nothing she would ever splurge for on her own, and when she discovers an item she really loves, she'll then know it and be able to add it to her regular rotation
Will do a card w flowers or similar for gifting in person on the day
fyi i also considered but ultimately eliminated:
http://www.themonthlyburn.com/ (I'm trying to wean her off incense - but who knows some candles smell nasty. I'd rather buy in person than roll those dice)
https://thenomadik.com/ (fun idea, but in real life I bet some items end up being used and others just sit around - may revisit for a future gift)
https://cafound.com/ (she loves local - would love the concept - but ultimately I know there would be many goodies that wouldn't actually be a match for her - plus most expensive)
so in the end I ended up with all food lol but it's great
