"my ladies and gents with long(ish) hair...you ever use beeswax?"

I got every hair product known to man under my sink and I'm always buying new ones. Bought some Murray's beeswax this weekend, on a whim. I've been considering it for a minute. Just checking it out in the jar, it's stiff as shit. I would think it would give impeccable shine and hold, but seems like it would buildup quick. What's good. For reference, this is the style and length of my hair, currently. Thanks.

as simply as you said, build-up.

ive seen some scary youtubes on product removal from locs....

keep it as simple as possible.

not every style or product is for everyone.

Beeswax is evil & must be destroyed.

It's sticky, it attracts dust & lint, it's hella oily, and it takes multiple washes to get it outta your hair (especially when it's locs.💯

Just way too thick. Shea butter is also too thick for hair. If you have locs, both products are a pain in the ass to wash out completely.

I used the stuff for a few weeks back in '96 trying to loc my hair, and I think that stuff only made it more difficult to loc.

I'll never forget that urge to wash the beeswax scent
from my locs after they *loc'd. LOL.

The precise reason that I went full-natural for my 2nd tour(Ironically, the 2nd tour is when I grew them the longest, literally tying my locs up with the locs themself).

...back inna day, during my 1st tour(I've done 2 seperate tours of loc-growing), I used beeswax.

During my 2nd tour, I used nothing at all. Just let my hair do it's natural African thing and 36 months later, I looked like Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

The devil gon' punish me for da amount of random gushy I collected when I had locs. Dis shit was NOT a game, Sun!

O_O

I might even still have a photo floatin around OKP. I had a nickname
amongst da OKPFees but I ain't gon' put dat out dere like dat.

about beeswax. Different products work better for me to varying degrees. My hair is course, so something with hold to it, more than just a moisturizer tends to work better for me. Like, this is what I'm using today...https://www.amazon.com/SheaMoisture-Coconut-Hibiscus-Curling-Souffle/dp/B00HU6Z8LI?th=1
I really just be experimenting, fam.

organic coconut oil
tea tree leave-in conditioner
ECO olive oil gel w/castor oil
Cantu leave-in conditioner

I've experimented with those and gotten the desired result. I was rockin a similar style; I just cut my shxt off.

but yeah...beeswax builds up terribly, especially at the BASE of your locs, twists etc. and trying to get that shxt out is quite the task bro....'fuck AND that' (c) StacyAdams

gotta look into the organic coconut oil. The Cantu joint is what my barber uses when he sponges it right after he's done with the cut.
