"Little stuff u did x10 after gaining independence or moving away from ho..."

I ordered alotta pizza lol

But I was thinking about this yesterday, b/c I went to Arby's, and we never went to Arby's much when I was a kid due to them being relatively expensive for a fast food place... to the point that it's like the restaurant is invisible to me when I drive past them even tho I always loved their food... funny how that works. Like the grasshopper in the jar after you take the lid off and whatnot. Found myself thinking, "I should eat more Arby's" lol. I don't eat out much at all tho. Actually I don't even eat alotta meat, but I might have a roast beef binge this week.

On a deeper level, I can't help but notice that's one way poverty controls generations psychologically, but this post ain't that deep. It's not just about food either.

What about yall?

What did you go hard with after getting a lil money and/or leaving home?

Can't knock that frozen block of vegetable, all you gotta do is cook in a pan, add water & seasoning, bam.

but ma dukes said she wasn't buying all
them veggies, b/c that's too expensive.
So I bought a few veggies here and there
with my lil job and then ate a vegan diet
for a year after leaving.
Then the pizza thing started lol.

it was the shelf life that was the issue. My mom would only go to the store once a month so the food had to last that long. she also came from when veggies WERE actually cheaper so frozen/canned just made more sense.

crunch. next week its honey smacks. after that its honey combs. Maybe even some trixs.

General Mills had a sale and I had like FOUR different boxes of new cereal on top of my fridge on display like gold record plaques.

Yeah they might be $4 a box, but that's the one area in my life I ball out of control. I stunt when it comes to cereal.

Thought there was some rapper named Lil Stuff and they died.

The best thing about being independent is: Choosing when to go to sleep and when to wake up.

That really happened after I moved out AND after I no longer had roommates.

That's the best - even taking a nap is a treat.

Make Heather B's character in the video a male, and that was who I was.

10x more loud ass rapping. 10x more NBA Live. 10x more weed. 10x more going from spot to spot, just to kick it. 10x more brash & obnoxious than I ever needed to be. I also found myself socializing at places where there weren't enough women, far too often.

My Pops was not a dog lover, so while I had dogs growing up, they exclusively lived in the backyard. We had a fenced off area and a doghouse. The closest they came to coming in the house was in inclement weather they could sleep in the garage.

A few years into getting my own crib, I had a dog who not only lived in the apartment, but rode around with me places. My old man was flabbergasted!

May he R.I.P., but he's probably rolling over in his grave at my current situation. Our current dog pretty much runs they house. She has a dog bed but would rather sleep at the foot of my son's bed, or in between my wife and I.

Pissing from the shower to the toilet with pinpoint accuracy. Think Nick Foles in the Super Bowl accuracy. Daunte Culpepper with Randy Moss in triple coverage.

Playing video games.

Growing up, I was one of the unlucky ones who missed out on the 1st and 2nd generation Xbox and PlayStation 3 because they were not allowed at home. I had to make do by watching the G4 channel or being invited to a classmate's house to play Gears of War.

In response to Reply # 0

Moms didn't do beef that often, but when we had it you better believe it was brown all the way through. Didn't care for it much. After leaving home and going to corporate functions with white people, having a medium steak changed my life. I'm not about to start eating my ribeye rare, but it definitely has some pink in it, which would never have happened at home.

They want it burnt and wont listen to you any other way. Let it be a hint of pink in the middle and they'll swear you didn't even grill the steak at all.

I refuse to grill for the older heads in the family now.

We never got sugary cereals, nary a fruit snack, or any good junk food. So every once in a while I'll buy something I know my Mother would strongly disapprove of and I still feel like I'm getting away with something. Also shame, because Iive alone and theres no way I should be eating a whole box of any of that shit by myself.

When I found out they offered college courses in the afternoon or at night?

SHIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEET.

I was straight vampire life. I think my earliest class in my first two years of college started at 4pm.
