i recently listened to this podcast called business wars netflix vs. blockbuster. it was really fascinating. it spoke a lot about how netflix knows that original content is the key to growth and was always really their long game. with all of the new producer deals that they have done we are going to get some really great stuff coming down the pike. they may really complete their mission of being a network tv killer and internet tv pioneer. and i am so here for it. the competition is good.

to get the network money.....
it's pretty profitable because it's not a hard sell anymore. when folks binge the shows on netflix then the networks see a spike in viewership when the new season of the show comes around. it's called the netflix affect. pretty smart.
if you are an avid tv watcher you've probably already seen all of the shows that this works for so it would make sense that you typically only watch the originals.

Very odd though that HER IMDB doesn't list Seven Seconds and the Seven Seconds IMDB doesn't show her as a character. I mean, she's a very important character for basically half the season. Seems like that would get listed.

I got a lot of The Night Of vibes from this but in a good way. However, this was much more thought out and coherent. I thought everyone acted their parts incredibly. I thought the way key elements were introduced were perfect. I even thought the culmination was well done and accurate.

So if Regina Hall stayed quiet in the bathroom??

I seen more than a few mistakes made by all parties involved but that's what made the show good.
I don't want to see a show where everything is by the book and no one gets away because the cops are on top of their job.

sure, forensics, if doing their job, will find material under her nails that they could test for DNA. what you fail to overlook is that unless that cop is a national DNA database they aren't gonna get a result. yes, Fish saw that he had scratches on his arm but they are trying to shut down a large police conspiracy. he can't just be like "look at ol' Latino cop dude, he had scratched arms so clearly he killed my witness." they needed to make shit stick to everyone and throwing out such a reckless accusation (while true) would fuck up everything.
also, why is it such a stretch for Regina King's character to run up on the wife. i mean, she followed him to his house and she's looking for answers. it's quite common for women to try connect via their womanhood/motherhood in stress situations. that's what she tried to do. why is your brain blown off this truth?

I didn't really understand KJ's character and she annoyed me. Regina King was AMAZING and should get accolades for this role. I was waiting to see a role where the grieving of loosing a child is realistic. In other shows they just seems to get over it so quickly. Her pain was palpable. Fish was another great character I loved to watch and I thought the acting by everyone was brilliant, especially Diangelo who completely convinced me of his malice.
Only critic would be that certain scenes dragged and I felt the series could have been wrapped up in 8 episodes.
------- SPOILER ALERT -------
I liked the ending because, in the end, that's reality right? Police don't do real time and I felt another ending would not have been a real representation.
THe fucking dog.... Fish could have promised Nadine he'd get her the dog and she wouldn't have had to slip out. I also don't like how that was just left without questions in the end; making me hope for a season 2 when they get those fuckers for her death.
All in all, a great show. Would defo check for season 2

But i guess that's not happening. KJ wasnt the most likable character. I loved Fish. Regina was great. The acting was pretty good all around. Solid show.
