Davis, Cousins, and James. Add a few role players. I don't see anyone giving them problems

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I'm not an advocate for this plan but we have sufficient cap space plus flippable young, desirable assets on rookie contracts to add a third star.

First, they lack both the money and sufficient assets for a trade. So this is dead based off of that alone.

Secind? Cuz isn't the guy any team or player needs to bank on next year.

Brawn & Brow is an intriguing duo though, but not enough for the Warriors Juggernaut. Cuz is a major unknown though.

Better to sign with the Lakers along with PG, and see who bites on a package of BI, Kuz, Lonzo and whatever else it would take to land a third star. Maybe NO bites on that for Brow. Someone would, I know that much.

Even a scenario like that may not be enough. Houston is a well oiled machine right now, since Hardens base form is a goddamn Supernova.

GS is still a veritable Hydra with all it's pieces together at the right time. It's going to take a hell of a lot to unseat them.

Brawn & Brow isn't getting it done, and a healthy Cuz might not even be enough.

well oiled machine, like you speak of, that only needs one more elemental to knock off GS.

There should be no risk involved with any move he makes at this point.

Even in Cleveland, his best bet is hoping they land a top 5 pick and flip it plus... something for another star, in addition to findiing a taker for Love in exchange for something. Boston gets Hayward back next year, plus a high pick, plus Tatum and Brown with another year under their belt, which makes them a threat to not just to get better by sheer attrition with superior depth, but also by the potential to add a third star to the mix.

Holding court in Cleveland without serious changes will still get him an ecf next year, but Boston will likely have enough to make the Finals for three-five years after this year.

Between that and GS/Hou, there's not a "risk free" path to a title for Brawn next year.

But CP3 and Bron would have to sacrifice a lil money and the Rockets would have to make a few minor moves.

Boston gets Hayward back next year, plus a high
>pick, plus Tatum and Brown with another year under their belt,
>which makes them a threat to not just to get better by sheer
>attrition with superior depth, but also by the potential to
>add a third star to the mix.

Well Boston only gets a pick if the Lakers bomb out the rest of the season. Boston gets the pick if it lands between 2-5.

Philly gets it right now as the lakers are sitting at #10.

Philly is also an eastern threat. If/when Fultz gets back to normal, Saric and Simmons developing, Embiid getting better and if they get a top 6-10 pick?

I mean, they could actually end up with Porter Jr or Trae Young added to that Core. Or at worst, Sexton, either of the Bridges boys, Wendell Carter or Kevin Knox.

Philly+Boston gonna rule the east for a few years unless someone bites the bullet and goes to Mil with Giannis or he leaves to another East team a piece away. If my Bulls make the right moves this summer, we're probably a few years away.

Bron is hitting his twilight years and it's getting more important for him to have a complete team and support than before. And even then, it still might not be enough.

Not because CLE is the best alternative option, but staying there won't tarnish the legacy. It would be seen as a noble act of loyalty to his city.

Chasing a ring and not getting it would tarnish the legacy.

We brought the city it's only championship. He's brought the team to the Finals three years in a row and has a shot at a fourth. if he decides to leave, there's not going to be the national coverage shit storm like there was in 2010. People understand that Gilbert is a trash owner and their front office seriously fucked up this post office.

Now, all that said, I still think he stays in Cleveland, because it still gives him the best path to the Finals and none of the other destinations are realistic.

No one would blame him for leaving CLE. I get that. (BTW, his PR game is great as of late.)

However, if he leaves and doesn't get another ring, I think he might drop down a notch or two as GOAT.

Right now he is battling it out with Jordan for the same spot, he leaves and doesn't get another ring, that debate ends and he falls below Jordan.

You can think outside the box all day.

Have fun with that trade machine and all that.

None of that outside the box pondering will change the actual box of rules that govern player movement in the NBA.

Because those rules dictate what's possible and what's probable, and while there's a possible scenario for Brawn to just up and go to NO, the cap and personnel challenges place it among the least probable.

And even in that scenario, everyone invved still has to gamble on Cuz returning to form after an Achilles injury to make them legit threat to GS and possibly even Hou.

Which... Again... is asking an awful lot.

So yeah, in NBA 2K, or even Bleacher Report clickbait fantasy land, thats a great idea.

Just not so much in reality.

Saying he's not doing that anymore.

Again, it's "possible", and again, it's also very, very far from probable.

You don't seem to factor Cuz's injury at all. Or the fact hat they dont have an attractive supporting cast to Brawn or to other teams in trades.

You don't seem to factor anything that matters, actually.
