"What's gonna happen with the Dreamers/DACA?"

Expires in a few weeks, and it's not looking like anything will save them out of congress.

There was 60 votes in the senate as late as a few days ago for a bipartisan bill. But Trump and them torpedoed it. They made the environment toxic for repubs that previously supported it to stay on board. Three Dems voted against it, but it would have failed anyways (54 for and 45 against)

Trump wants hella cuts for legal immigration and his wall. But his proposal couldn't even get a bunch of republicans on board (it fell 39 for and 60 against)

This was sneaky McConnell's plan all along. He doesn't want any protections for the DACA folks, but he wants to give the appearance that he tried. I saw this coming a mile away.

McConnell: "Everyone agrees I held up my end of the bargain." "When the hour came to actually make law, instead of just making political points, our friends across the aisle were either unable or unwilling to get something done.”

They've already been going after the loudest activists
DREAMERS are unfortunately the lowest hanging fruit since they've regularly given up their information and they're an overall less dangerous population for ICE to capture
Their one saving grace is that they have a few court injunctions on their sides, but that's relying on ICE to follow the court orders and well ...

Yesterday this happened:
"Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a federal district judge in Brooklyn issued a preliminary injunction against the rescission of DACA. As the opinion repeatedly emphasized, the judge did not rule that the administration lacks the power to rescind DACA. Rather, the court held that the administration's stated rationale—that DACA is unconstitutional—was inadequate and contradicted the administration's decision to retain DACA in place for half a year."

So his original order will be rewritten with some fiction (like the travel ban) and it'll get ligated for several months and if everything goes well the dreamers who were registered will be safe for a few more months.

After that Congressional Republicans and Trump will send a massive amount of money to ICE and they will deport tens of thousands of dreamers.

If the Democrats can win in November then sometime early next year to shut down the government until trump signs a law they will present to him.

BUT ALL REPUBLICANS - ALL OF THEM - ARE IN FAVOR OF DEPORTING ALL DREAMERS - AND THEY WANT TO STOP NEW IMMIGRATION.

ALL OF THEM ARE RACISTS PIECES OF SHIT - AND ONLY BY LEAVING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND STARTING A NEW ONE CAN THEY START TO REDEEM THEMSELVES.

Make no mistake - all of the dreamers will be deported if the Republicans hold both houses and the presidency.

EVERY ONE OF THEM.

Third federal judge rejects Trump reasoning for ending DACA
BY AVERY ANAPOL - 04/24/18 08:43 PM EDT

A federal judge on Tuesday ordered the Trump administration to continue accepting Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications, dealing a major blow to the administration as it attempts to wind down the program.

U.S. District Judge John Bates, a George W. Bush appointee, became the third federal judge to reject President Trump’s explanation for ending the program, ruling that the decision by the Justice Department that the program was unlawful was “virtually unexplained.”

Trump rescinded DACA in September, giving Congress six months to pass legislation in its place.

Bates ordered the administration to continue DACA, which gives protections to immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.
Bates also ordered the administration to accept new applications, a first in the ongoing legal battles over the decision.

Bates stayed the ruling for 90 days to give the administration time to come up with a better explanation for ending the program.

Two other judges have issued similar rulings, but have only ruled that the program should be allowed to continue while litigation plays out.

Federal judge says Trump must fully restore DACA
BY ARIS FOLLEY - 08/03/18 05:20 PM EDT

A federal judge ruled Friday that the Trump administration must fully restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

In his 25-page opinion, Judge John Bates said the Trump White House had again failed to provide justification for its proposal to end the Obama-era program, under which nearly 800,000 people brought to the country illegally as children, known as "Dreamers," have received work permits and deferral from deportation.

The judge also said in his opinion that he has agreed to delay his ruling to give the Trump administration 20 days "to determine whether it intends to appeal the Court’s decision and, if so, to seek a stay pending appeal."

President Trump rescinded DACA in September, a decision Bates wrote in his opinion “was arbitrary and capricious” with legal judgment that was “inadequately explained.”

Bates further wrote that the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia holds that if the Trump administration wishes to rescind the program, or take any other action for that matter, it must “give a rational explanation for its decision.”

Bates said his court reaffirms its conclusion that DACA’s rescission “was unlawful and must be set aside.”

Earlier this year, Bates, a George W. Bush appointee, became the third federal judge to reject Trump’s explanation for ending the program, ruling at the time that the decision by the Justice Department that the program was unlawful was “virtually unexplained.”

The judge’s decision on Friday comes amid high political tension over the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policies.

Trump has faced backlash for his controversial “zero-tolerance” at the Mexican border, which prioritizes the prosecutions of migrants who illegally enter the United States.

The policy led to the separation of hundreds of migrant children from their parents, causing a bipartisan uproar. A court previously ordered the government to reunite the migrant families by last Thursday, but hundreds of children still remain divided from their parents.

Trump has signed an executive order to end the family separations, but also repeatedly pledged to shut down the government this fall if he fails to secure funding for his long-promised southern border wall.

If it was legal to start it with the stroke of a pen, it should be legal to cancel it with the stroke of a pen.

I want a path to citizenship for these folks, but I don't understand these rulings

Federal Appeals Court upholds ruling blocking Trump administration from ending DACA, the Obama-era program that protects young undocumented immigrants who came to US as children from being deported.
