"When was the last time you listened to the lyrics of 'Baby got back'?"
Its one of those things where you don't think about it too much until you pay attention.
I was driving and 'Baby Got Back' came on and it hit me...
If this song was made today it would not be as pro black as it is. If it were done today it would likely feature a slew of women who resemble Iggy Azelea
Sir Mix-A-Lot explicitly named Flo-Jo, "sistas" and the idea that rock video girls are the antithesis of his vision of beauty ("knock kneed bimbos" - bimbo being a derogatory term for a blonde woman)
Objectification aside, its a song celebrating the shape of black women. This contrasts with the current view of european beauty ideals displayed in current rap videos.

LOL, we all use to listen to the 80s station on vh1.com (early 2000s) and when that song would come on we would sing it. He would yell "hey" on the 'even white boys got to shout' part lol.
