he always seemed like a novelty act to some degree. mainly due to the kids group rep that he has/had. he was also seen as a biter since some of his music followed trends rather than being at the front.

but he was a big deal in writing for R&B groups, and Mariah.

JD's music is for people that like to go to Lenox to see and be seen. The different sides of Atlanta are probably comparable to NYC niggas being from different burroughs. So, when you're from here, you can differentiate Westside (Killer Mike, T.I.), East Side (Gucci, despite being from Alabama), South Side (2 Chainz, Luda, JD, Outkast technically) and North Side (Migos, I guess), the same way you can Harlem from Brooklyn from Queens, etc.

I think before this Rap Game show, he'd only worked with like, 2 kid artists, being Kris Kross & Bow Wow. Another Bad Creation was Dallas Austin's group. Brat, Jagged Edge, Xscape, and most of the other people he's produced for (Mariah, Biggie, Whodini, etc.) were all adults.
