Depending on the evening, I might have a drank or two.

I wake up around 630am.

This girl is in bed by 10, but cant get up by herself. I'm at her door at 630, 640, 645... "AY! Come on now..." complete with turning all her lights on and letting the dog jump in the bed.

So naw..it dont get no easier, lol...

from the time I was about 6th grade until I graduated high school I couldn't fall asleep before 2 or 3 AM most nights, and I had a curfew until halfway through 10th grade. I would just sit and read books, magazines, listen to music. Didn't have a TV or computer or smartphone or anything but I would just stay up all night reading and listening to things. Sometimes my parents would wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and notice I was still awake (our bedrooms were across the hall from each other) and come in all slow and groggy like "what the hell are you doing still awake?" until they got tired of my shrugging, "I'm just not tired" answer.

And then once I didn't have a curfew I would just stay up listening to music, watching Conan O'Brien, Elimidate, playing Madden and Metal Gear Solid or whatever else until like 5AM and then just figure out how to pull an all-nighter, pretend to get up and do my routine and then just sleep through school or fake sick. Or try and force myself to bed at 3AM. So I was really, really horrible at waking up for school almost every day, but I was also awake for like 19 hours a day.

Or make sure the alarm is set (why??), or that her phone is out of the bed. So I know that she's asleep at least by midnightish.

The alarm thing kills me though...she's the high priestess of snooze.

..and you figure "okay, if I let her sleep, she'll hate running around trying to get herself together in a rush", but...*sigh*

Side note-when did it become cool to bring your lunch in High School?

We used to clown those kids..damn I'm old

His clock wakes me up from down the hall! I go in his room and he is totally dead to the world.

Currently, the only way to wake him up is to call the dog in to jump on the bed and lick him awake.

lights out 11:30pm and they have to be up by 10am or I make life a living hell for them and they spend the much of the day doing chores... when they spend the weekend at their mom's sometimes they aren't out of bed until the afternoon... SMH.. I get that teenagers need more sleep but really if 10.5 hours isn't enough WTF!?!

But then when there's a birthday party/sleepover/whatever every single weekend, and you're crying to go but aint did not na'an chore, but you promise to do it on Sunday, but then you got homework/studying to do so now you cant do it?

Nah...

Chores done by 12 or you're basically on punishment for the weekend.

the me time is critical but I got all week for that.. plus these days living at least an hour away and having all their friends out there (their mother's) they come out here less... but I gotta stay on them when they're here because left to their own devices they would pretty much sleep all weekend and leave everything to Sunday night at their mom's or even Monday morning lol.

maybe I don't give them enough credit but I trust them on that about as far as I can throw them.. which these days is a rapidly diminishing distance as they pack down extra servings at dinner on the regular etc...
