"Poll question: Y'all think Justin is lying when he says no N'Sync or Janet at SB?"
Fri Feb-02-18 10:37 AM by lightworks

On the one hand I think by now TMZ or someone would have rehearsal pics, maybe for N'Sync but definitely for Janet

On the other hand Justin said in his press conference there won't be any guests and I can't think of the last time there were no guests at a super bowl appearance--maybe Prince and before than maybe MJ? Like, even Beyonce had DC with her...

And he ain't no prince or MJ so I am curious...

Poll result (6 votes)
He's lying (1 votes)Vote
He is telling the truth (5 votes)Vote

Dude is gonna go all out to try to garner some interest and improve the outlook on it. I'm guessing it'll be him solo, doing his best to get people talking about hims music positively again.

Its better than the last one. My only problem is he needs to drop the comedic undertone in his videos. Keep that shit for SNL of movies. The latest video looks like him makng his own outdoors lumberjack version of the Happy video. Didnt play it cool the way Pharrell did in his video.

I also think they picked the wrong order of singles. But if you throw on the album there is no reason eapexually on his board to not like this albm unelss you are a weirdo still holding on to white thing or titty thing. Dont act grown up on this site and have petty grudges with people you dont know shit is weird lol

and JT was singing along with the crowd, blending it into his own song.

it was way more tasteful than any "hologram" has ever been, a very traditional tribute.

all in all, a decent half time show. dude went all over the field and only played the hits (sure, he opened with one new song, but whatever).

are useless and disingenuous.
As important as Prince's image was to him,
anybody thinking he would be cool with his
image being used here obviously never listened
to the man when he spoke about these sorts of
things. Hell, he was especially strict about
his music being used. If you liked it, cool,
but saying you gave a damn about Prince is lies
at this point when you think your tears are
more important than what he wanted.
At least when Joe Corn Moe was here, he'd say
"fuck what the artist wanted" so we knew he
was a deplorable human being.

I think I agree with him, to a point. I would rather see a tasteful tribute to Prince at the Minneapolis Super Bowl than not. Felt more like an extension of the Grammys than a demonic reincarnation.

How you going to tell someone they weren't genuinely hurt when Prince died AND people take you seriously?

Did you cry?

Have you ever listened to a bootleg Prince song or stream his music now?

So your problem here isn't even with me, per se, but with "people" engaging me seriously? Do you mean to come off so jealous and pathetic or is that an accident on your part? Handle these kinds of issues within yourself before you address me.
You just need to be thankful that anyone takes YOU seriously when you speak on sociopolitical issues *after* you admitted to being dumb and getting dumber due to a lack of reading and inability to finish a damn book.
Come to think of it, that's exactly why it's always a conflict masquerading as a discussion with you. You lack info and are just operating based on your jealousy. Thanks for clearing that up. Now run along and read some self-help books. Make sure you finish them.

I would rather see a Prince tribute at the Minnesota Super Bowl no matter how hard a stance Prince had taken against it, though no such story seems to be out there. He thought holograms were demonic, and I agree they are stupid, and Timberlake did not use a hologram, so I'm glad he did what he did, regardless of (though also as best I can tell in total vacancy of) an argument from Prince he also would not have liked that.

Prince is dead. I like being reminded that he lived.

edit: to further Be Claro ©, I was posting after several rounds with a bottle of Dickel Rye and in no condition to fight your feelings. But I also think it's bullshit that there's only ever one way to approach an artist's art, even if that artist asserts that's the case.

The fact that the city took part makes it clear it was bigger than JT.

The family signed off on it and almost all concerts that honor fallen singers at stadiums feature a projection or image of that fallen artist.

Everyone who has ever listened to a Prince bootleg or even listen to his music on streaming services now talking about respecting Prince's wishes is full of the stinkiest shit.

The JT show was weak, safe and boring, but there are plenty of other reasons to criticize it other than the Prince tribute.

Imagine the outrage if he DIDNT pay respects to Prince.

Overall I thought it was tasteful.

The symbol lights outside the stadium were beautiful.

And yeah it was a crowd participation kinda thing. And I geeked out when I heard the Linn snares ramp up into the tribute potion.

And I just saw Morris give his approval on FB.

We know Prince was strict about that, and

one of his songs in order to feel sad about
him passing. Ppl in here on some "BUT I

his passing is still fresh on people's minds and it made since because of the host city.

when I saw the piano, I felt it was about to happen. my issue is I don't feel the need for the projection. he would've been totally fine without it.

I have no beef with Timberlake. however, the overall performance was tepid at best. putting the image of didn't help me like it more.

the purple lights in the city and the symbol was pretty dope.

Prince didn’t like holograms. It wasn’t that. It was very clearly a tribute and a classy one. Y’all can argue over their personal relationship but this wasn’t against Princes wishes in that often retweeted paragraph.

Now.

Walking into the stadium to Rock Your Body? THAT was disrespectful as fuck. No class.

Folks had me thinking he was going to sacrifice someone on stage to bring the second coming of Prince or something.

They were in Minnesota, there was a brief moment of Prince tribute then the show went on. Still trying to figure out what all the crying is about.

Ok look, some of you might think I'm being dramatic about #JusticeForJanet. If so, I would ask that you go back and watch the interview Justin Timberlake gave on Entertainment Tonight not long after the infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime show (below @6:10).

Watch as this little of raggedy pantomimes clutching his pearls and comes back TWICE to reiterate how "appalled" and "embarrassed" he was to see part of a Black woman's breast after personally ripping the clothes off her breast, corresponding exactly to the lyrics in his own song. Check out the terrible acting when he pretends he's too innocent to say the word "brassiere" without blushing. Notice how he goes out of his way to call the event a "stunt" (not an accident) that HE did not want to participate in and that HE had no idea would happen, leaving plenty of room to infer that SHE did.

Watch and listen, because this is the same smarmy, self-serving, slut-shaming misogyny that says:
- a woman who dresses provocatively is to blame for her sexual assault
- a woman who shares nude photos is at fault if those photos are made public against her will
- Kim Kardashian is a worthless whore but Hugh Hefner is an icon
- men skillful enough to become multimillionaires in their fields are still too hapless and naive to understand what is/isn't sexually appropriate
- if you're a rich, famous man (especially if you're White) you can grab women by the p*ssy or anywhere else (especially if they're non-White) because ultimately everyone will forgive you and not her.

If #TimesUp for real and #BlackLivesMatter then it's not enough just to call out violent rapists and the Klan. We need to tear down the entire culture that protects weak-ass, entitled men who deliberately weaponize their privilege so that they won't ever have to face up to their wrongdoing or inadequacies.* And we need to speak up for the women and people of color whose lives and careers are ruined as a result.

In conclusion: F*ck. Justin. Timberlake.

*Sound like anyone else we know?

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

1. two celebs don't care for each other much
2. one is a black legend, other is a yt appropriator
3. blk legend dies w/ many of his views (concerning said appropriator and how folks should be "honored") known
4. yt appropriator uses blk legend's image in a way that he was directly against
5. folks call out the disrespect

but mofos is "postin extremely hurt"?

....seems like folks are calling out the disrespect.

prince is DEAD and can't speak for himself.

shit is foul and all too familiar. (same thing happening to 'pac right today)

and if the above is true, questo is wack for that.

- no fake "duet" with Prince vox on tape
- no CGI bullshit
- no tasteless appropriation

THEY

- lit Minneapolis purple & paid tribute to Prince in a very respectful manner

What would've happened if Justin didnt do shit?

At the end of it there was no winning this, but this was by far the better way to lose
