Not obsessed with the beat on "Era," and I think a big part of the appeal of the first album was its brevity (this list shows 17 tracks ...) but I'm still fucking excited.

the instrumental is awful and dave east can't find the pocket until the drums come back in. royce has some good lines but i don't want to listen to him bc of the instrumental
i remember premier saying in an interview that he could make beats like metro boomin and mike will made it if he wanted to but chose not to because "that was their thing." it was weirdly arrogant and dismissive of the skill and talent metro and mike possess. "era" makes me think preemo was wrong about being able to do what modern trap producers do. hopefully the rest of the album is straight up boom bap 1 & 2 bar loops and chops

The first album was a revelation specifically BECAUSE of the throwback 90s production. If this album moves away from that winning formula I'll personally be pretty disappointed.
