on his way to work. Someone ran a red light and hit him, while he was making a left turn. The person got out and ran away...left him there like a piece of trash. We talked not that long ago and he was saying how he was counting down to retirement. He had been at the same job from a young man and had a lot of years in. He had a wife and teenage kids. Now he's gone. Shit like this makes me hate people. What kind of person could do that?

People that drink-and-drive, people that play with their phones while driving, and people that plain just don't give a fuck. Makes me really angry too. Drivers need to be regulated more (meaning, bad drivers should be off the road FOREVER).

I lost 2 friends in car accidents last year and it was the 10 year anniversary of my mothers passing (she died in a car accident as well).
I hate seeing careless drivers... and sometimes I have to remind myself to chill when I want to look at the phone or grab some shit from the back seat while driving.

You have every right to feel sad and angry and a host of other feelings which you may be having now.
Hopefully you have support around you to talk about your thoughts and feelings. If not, there are grief support groups and other means of finding support.
It seems that you both were on good terms as he passed which showed that he valued you. He sounds like a good, decent man and it hurts when tragedy strikes positive people.
I pray for comfort to find you and his family by way of support from family and close friends and the larger community.
