it's clear that he is trying to discredit Mueller and the FBI at the very least. I think Trump is finished either way, firing Mueller might even speed up the process.

They have large blocks of representatives openly calling for Mueller's resignation. If Trump fires Mueller, they won't move against him.
The Senate seems to be a little more resistant, so that could possibly be a small issue.

Same thing with the general public. People are entrenched. Trump won't lose a lot of public support if he dismisses Mueller.

I think for Trump, firing him is a no lose situation.

by the time he was fired, the wheels were already set in motion. I think Mueller is prepared to fired, and he has a plan if it does happen. While I don't have a lot of faith in the republicans to do the right thing (Roy Moore), a lot more evidence will come out, and I believe it will be overwhelming. Lindsay Graham has already said "there will be hell to pay" if Trump fires Mueller and a few others are hinting they Trump asked them to shut down the investigation. The walls are closing in on Donald, and Kush man is next. I can't say for sure how it's going to happen exactly, but I am confident Trump is going down.

Trump until midterms.

Remember Clinton was impeached and their was serious backlash against republicans in the next election cycle.

I want a scandal plagued trump around until next November thinking it will get us a better shot of taking both houses of congress....assuming we aren't all dead.

Trump Ordered Mueller Fired, but Backed Off When White House Counsel Threatened to Quit

By MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT and MAGGIE HABERMAN JAN. 25, 2018

WASHINGTON — President Trump ordered the firing last June of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.

The West Wing confrontation marks the first time Mr. Trump is known to have tried to fire the special counsel. Mr. Mueller learned about the episode in recent months as his investigators interviewed current and former senior White House officials in his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice.

Amid the first wave of news media reports that Mr. Mueller was examining a possible obstruction case, the president began to argue that Mr. Mueller had three conflicts of interest that disqualified him from overseeing the investigation, two of the people said.

First, he claimed that a dispute years ago over fees at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., had prompted Mr. Mueller, the F.B.I. director at the time, to resign his membership. The president also said Mr. Mueller could not be impartial because he had most recently worked for the law firm that previously represented the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Finally, the president said, Mr. Mueller had been interviewed to return as the F.B.I. director the day before he was appointed special counsel in May.

After receiving the president’s order to fire Mr. Mueller, the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, refused to ask the Justice Department to dismiss the special counsel, saying he would quit instead, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not want to be identified discussing a continuing investigation.

Mr. McGahn disagreed with the president’s case and told senior White House officials that firing Mr. Mueller would have a catastrophic effect on Mr. Trump’s presidency. Mr. McGahn also told White House officials that Mr. Trump would not follow through on the dismissal on his own. The president then backed off.

Ty Cobb, who manages the White House’s relationship with Mr. Mueller’s office, said in a statement, “We decline to comment out of respect for the Office of the Special Counsel and its process.”

Mr. McGahn, a longtime Republican campaign finance lawyer in Washington who served on the Federal Election Commission, was the top lawyer on Mr. Trump’s campaign. He has been involved in nearly every key decision Mr. Trump has made — like the firing of the former F.B.I. director — that is being scrutinized by Mr. Mueller.

Mr. McGahn was also concerned that firing the special counsel would incite more questions about whether the White House was trying to obstruct the Russia investigation.

Around the time Mr. Trump wanted to fire Mr. Mueller, the president’s legal team, led then by his longtime personal lawyer in New York, Marc E. Kasowitz, was taking an adversarial approach to the Russia investigation. The president’s lawyers were digging into potential conflict-of-interest issues for Mr. Mueller and his team, according to current and former White House officials, and news media reports revealed that several of Mr. Mueller’s prosecutors had donated to Democrats.

Mr. Mueller could not legally have considered political affiliations when making hiring decisions. But for Mr. Trump’s supporters, it reinforced the idea that, although Mr. Mueller is a Republican, he had assembled a team of Democrats to take down the president.

Another option that Mr. Trump considered in discussions with his advisers was dismissing the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, and elevating the department’s No. 3 official, Rachel Brand, to oversee Mr. Mueller. Mr. Rosenstein has overseen the investigation since March, when Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself.

Mr. Trump has significantly ratcheted back his criticisms of Mr. Mueller since he hired Mr. Cobb for his legal team in July. A veteran of several high-profile Washington controversies, Mr. Cobb has known Mr. Mueller for decades, dating to their early careers in the Justice Department.

He advised Mr. Trump that he had nothing to gain from combat with Mr. Mueller, a highly respected former prosecutor and F.B.I. director who has subpoena power as special counsel. Since Mr. Cobb’s arrival, the White House has operated on the premise that the quickest way to clear the cloud of suspicion was to cooperate with Mr. Mueller, not to fight him.

Nonetheless, Mr. Trump has wavered for months about whether he wants to fire Mr. Mueller, which is an omnipresent concern among the president’s legal team and close aides. The president’s lawyers, including Mr. Cobb, have tried to keep Mr. Trump calm by assuring him for months, amid new revelations about the inquiry, that it is close to ending.

Mr. Trump has long demonstrated a preoccupation with those who have overseen the Russia investigation. In March, after Mr. McGahn failed to persuade Attorney General Jeff Sessions not to recuse himself from the inquiry, Mr. Trump complained that he needed someone loyal to oversee the Justice Department.

The former F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said Mr. Trump asked him for loyalty and encouraged him to drop an investigation into his former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn. Mr. Comey said he sidestepped those requests. He was soon fired.

In an interview with The New York Times in the Oval Office in July, the president pointedly kept open the option of firing Mr. Mueller, saying that the special counsel would be passing a red line if his investigation expanded to look at Mr. Trump’s finances. Mr. Trump said he never would have made Mr. Sessions the attorney general if he had known he would recuse himself from the investigation.

Last month, as Republicans were increasing their attacks on the special counsel, Mr. Trump said in an interview with The Times that he believed Mr. Mueller was going to treat him fairly.

“No, it doesn’t bother me because I hope that he’s going to be fair,” Mr. Trump said in response to a question about whether it bothered him that Mr. Mueller had not yet ended his investigation. “I think that he’s going to be fair.”

Mr. Trump added: “There’s been no collusion. But I think he’s going to be fair.”

Getting a little more deeper in the Deutsche Bank story. They r now describing it as a subpoena hitting folks in 45's inner crew (and beyond). It could be Jr., son-in-law, or Trump himself, ect.......Interesting... "WSJ now reporting that Deutsche Bank received a subpoena earlier in the fall from Mueller’s office "concerning people or entities affiliated with President Donald Trump, according to a person briefed on the matter."

------

Mueller Subpoenas Deutsche Bank Records Related to Trump
The subpoena concerns documents and data related to people or entities affiliated with the President

By Jenny Strasburg
Updated Dec. 5, 2017 5:17 p.m. ET

Deutsche Bank AG DB -1.88% received a subpoena earlier in the fall from U.S. special counsel Robert Mueller’s office concerning people or entities affiliated with President Donald Trump, according to a person briefed on the matter.

The subpoena requested documents and data about accounts and other dealings tied to relationships with Mr. Trump and people close to him, the person said. The bank has lent more than $300 million to entities affiliated with Mr. Trump, according to public disclosures.

Ty Cobb, the White House’s chief lawyer handling the Russia investigation, said bank records of Mr. Trump and his family weren’t subpoenaed. “Previous reports today about subpoenas for financial records relating to the president and his family are false,” Mr. Cobb said.

When Trump Needs a Loan, He Chooses Deutsche Bank (March 2016)
Mr. Mueller is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election, including flows of cash tied to Russia and people in Mr. Trump’s orbit, in a deepening probe that has led to charges against former advisers to Mr. Trump.

A Deutsche Bank spokesman said Tuesday that the bank “takes its legal obligations seriously and remains committed to cooperating with authorized investigations into this matter.” The subpoena was earlier reported by German newspaper Handelsblatt.

Deutsche Bank’s relationship with Mr. Trump goes back decades. Since 1998, the lender has led or participated in loans of at least $2.5 billion to companies affiliated with Mr. Trump, The Wall Street Journal has reported. The financing helped Mr. Trump build or purchase some of his highest-profile projects, including in Washington, New York, Chicago and Florida.

Deutsche Bank kept doing business with Mr. Trump after other banks pulled away, and even after Deutsche Bank itself became embroiled in a nasty legal battle over 2005 loans worth more than $600 million to build the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago. After Mr. Trump missed loan payments in 2008, he and Deutsche Bank sued each other. They settled out of court in 2009.

About that time, Deutsche Bank’s investment bank soured on the relationship, people close to the matter say. But the lender’s private-banking unit stepped in and extended more than $300 million in loans to Trump entities over several years, according to public disclosures and people close to the bank.

Mr. Trump offered personal guarantees for large portions of the Deutsche Bank loans. Those personal guarantees have factored into months of internal discussions among bank lawyers and executives about the implications of a default, were one to happen, according to people familiar with the discussions. One issue is the thorny prospect of pursuing a high-profile elected official for payment, and one with potential sway over ongoing investigations or other decisions that could affect Deutsche Bank, the people say.

Dan Stein, former chief of the criminal division at the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, said the special counsel’s subpoena of Deutsche Bank signals one of two possible directions for the broader investigation.

“Either it means they’re going beyond the narrow question of election interference,” Mr. Stein said of Mr. Mueller’s team. Or it means the question of election interference may now somehow involve the transfer of funds to the president or his family or inner circle, he said.

Mr. Trump has called the special counsel’s investigation a “witch hunt,” and Moscow has denied meddling in the election.

Michael Caputo, a former Trump campaign adviser, said in an interview that the Deutsche Bank subpoena suggests the special counsel investigation is now veering into a probe of Mr. Trump’s private business dealings. Referring to Mr. Mueller, he said, “If he goes into the Trump Organization financial records, that’s a clear indication that it (the investigation) has gone amok.”

The Justice Department order authorizing the special counsel gives Mr. Mueller a wide remit to investigate “any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation.”

Deutsche Bank executives and lawyers had been expecting a demand for information from Mr. Mueller’s team as the special counsel investigation progressed, according to people close to the bank. As Mr. Trump’s primary lender in recent years, Deutsche Bank this year faced repeated document requests from Democratic lawmakers scrutinizing the administration’s ties to Russia.

The Democrats lacked Republican support to compel Deutsche Bank to provide the information. Deutsche Bank lawyers have said U.S. bank-secrecy rules prohibited the lender from revealing details about its clients or their business with the bank without a subpoena or other formal request from Congress.

Deutsche Bank faces ongoing questions about a series of Russian trades that have been scrutinized in multiple investigations in the U.S. and Europe, including in a still-pending U.S. Justice Department probe. The Democratic U.S. lawmakers wanted the bank to detail any ties between those trades or other Russian financing and anyone connected to Mr. Trump, his family or advisers.

—Erica Orden, Rebecca Ballhaus and Peter Nicholas in Washington contributed to this article.

BREAKING NEWS: Rep. Speier (House Intel Committee) Says Rumor in DC Is Trump Will Fire Bob Mueller in Six Days

(Trump can't directly fire Mueller—only Rod Rosenstein can—but presumably Trump has planned for this and will fire multiple people if he does go forward with his plan.)

He might try it but I think Trump is done either way. It should be an interesting next couple of weeks. Mueller has plenty of evidence and Trump knows it, that's why he's trying to discredit Mueller and the FBI. Fox News too, of course. They are straight up propaganda at this point. I think Mueller is prepared for anything, there is too much evidence for Trump and his criminal family/friends to cover up.

“So back we go to these questions — friendship, character… ethics.”

Rather, Trump appeared to be contemplating changes in the Justice Department’s leadership. In recent discussions, two advisers said, Trump has called the attorney general “weak,” and complained that Rosenstein has shown insufficient accountability on the special counsel’s work. A senior official said Trump mocked Rosenstein’s recent testimony on Capitol Hill, saying he looked weak and unable to answer questions. Trump has ranted about Rosenstein as “a Democrat,” one of these advisers said, and characterized him as a threat to his presidency.

In fact, Rosenstein is a Republican. In 2005, President George W. Bush nominated him to be U.S. attorney in Maryland.

He’s bonkers. He tweetes this morning that none of the questions have to do with collusion, which is clearly a lie. Also, there’s no chance this was leaked by Mueller’s people.
