If it wasn't obvious, I'm white. So yeah I wouldn't have said it.
No doubt he was wrong and should be checked for it, but it seems more like ignorance than maliciousness. Maybe I'm naive for giving him the benefit of the doubt though.

i don't necessarily disagree. but damn, i did the same thing here just recently quoting Paul Mooney in reference to Tom Hanks. i typed Nword and not the asterisks. and i'm also not a public figure posting on a public forum. not a good look for him, i agree.
i think his subsequent responses were worse than the original tweet, and he did put too many asterisks, for one.
