He already did time for violating parole and all three incidents (leaving to perform, fighting with a fan over a photo, riding a dirt bike) are bullshit, particularly since the last two are what sent him to jail and they were DROPPED.

It reminds me of when SoWhat pointed out that probation is its own prison industrial complex hustle.

and they had him sorting clothes.

The majority of this stuff is typical knucklehead rapper stuff. And let's not pretend the boy isn't a bit of an idiot. But 2 years is the shit of bulls.

She just reminded him who holds the chain. And now, when he gets out...HE'S STILL ON PROBATION.

fuckery all around.

Going to jail for dumb shit? Yeah that's fucked. But easily avoidable. Dont do it. Pretty simple. There's only so many times you can say the courts are going after him if he's willingly putting himself in those situations

His dumb shit isn’t shooting guns and getting caught with intent to distribute, thats my issue. Its dumb shit most of us would avoid, but invitably might find ourselves doing if we had to spend a decade acting like angels.

Don’t let the Meek hate blind you to the bigger picture; its some bullshit. He going to jail because of DROPPED CHARGES, lol. This aint Meek going to jail for suckerpunching Beanie

At the same time, that whole airport photo shit was because he was a celeb.

My thing is in the alternate universe where BigReg is a huge rap star its gonna be hard for ten years not to have ANY run in with the cops and I'm a goddamn angel. My issue is they were all minor things and the cases got dropped...and he still got sent up; all it took was an arrest. So I'm on stage rapping, shots go off, audience dude said it was one of my weed baggers on stage shooting into the crowd, we all get arrested and they figure out it was just fireworks...Im suddenly violating parole? LOL

Brinkley was Meek's judge in the original 2009 case, and cited a failed drug test, his violation of travel restrictions and two other arrests as infractions upon his probation.

^^ being in position to even catch those cases was bad enough. but he had other infractions that resulted in his probation being violated.

if anything his celebrity status and $ might've helped ...

naw.

i represent clients who are on probation who have a number of violations. it's mostly about their probation officer being willing to fight for them to stay out of prison/jail though they have already violated. as long as probation is willing to work w/them they tend to stay out. but once probation says they have had enough and can't or won't work w/the defendant then it's real tough to keep them out of prison/jail.

Meek had a number of violations and probably had an officer who was encouraging the judge to let him keep trying. but then Meek caught those cases ON TOP of doing that other shit. and it was like too much for the judge. him being a celebrity probably hurt b/c all of the drama was in the news. and the judge took it personally - even accused Meek of thumbing his nose at the judge. the judge was out there looking bad in the press. he couldn't have it.

fuck you.

it's AND, not OR.

so far i'm seeing way too many reactions to this and it's OR.

one side mentions the heavy-handed sentencing. and the reaction is to say OR he could stop doing dumb shit. which kind of ignores the sentencing.

the flip being also true. people mention meek's habitual line stepping and they get with the OR the sentencing could make more sense.

both of those gotta get equal time. both are valid...

Meek was a fool to accept it.

he was better off doing some time (if not county jail time then some prison time) and dealing w/parole on the back end if required.

but next to no one can survive ten years of probation w/o violating. it's unpossible.

fuck you.
