Nazi's put my grandfather in a work camp. They also killed his brother. My father still has scars on his chest because his bedroom window got shot up above his bed while he was sleeping as a toddler. I've been beaten up by neo-Nazis three times as a teenager. Once hospitalized for a concussion. We had to walk in groups for a couple years. My best friend (who lived with my pops and I) got more than 10 stitches on his head from a Nazi boot.

I don't think I post much about 'experiences' but I certainly post alot about race politics. By extension...I sometimes post about my experiences in the context of race politics.
We're not gonna solve this. There was a post awhile ago where you spelled it out. You don't like when white people talk about race. I don't like when people call me a Nazi or alt-right. Neither of those things are gonna change because we don't like them.
I have a question for you. Can you recall any instance in which someone (other than a parent) asserted that you shouldn't talk about something? Did it stop you from talking about it? I'm curious to know if you can think of an analogy that puts you in my position in relation to you. IE a jewish person said you shouldn't talk about the holocaust. I don't think all conversations about race are exclusively talked about from these two defined perspectives. I try my best to be objective and don't subscribe to the identity-politics doctrine that suggests WHO you are is more relevant than WHAT you say. I also don't subscribe to the theory that your identity gives legitimacy to what you say. For example...I believe that a Brazillian is capable of having a more sophisticated understanding or viewpoint about the holocaust than a random jewish person.

I can see now that you thought I had assumed Buddy was referring to me, Denny, as an individual? That wasn't the case.
My understanding of Buddy's point was that white people tend to be more likely to dislike punching Nazis because they are least likely to be victims of Nazis. I was making the counter-argument that white people certainly do have reason to fear Nazis and that in fact, white people historically account for the large majority of victims to Nazi violence. Then I pointed to my own experience as evidence that neo-nazis also consistently target white people in current days.
I wasn't taking his post to be addressing me personally and I think if you reread it with that understanding you'll see what I mean. In anycase...I don't necessarily have a problem with the punch shown above. In light of the fact that the nazi guy threw a banana at the puncher before the camera was rolling makes it even more justified imo. I was just saying Buddy's contention that white people aren't threatened or feel threatened by Nazis is wrong.

more than at least 95% of this board. It's more a product of coincidence though. I lived in a town that an international neo-nazi claimed refugee status in from Germany. His name was Wolfgang Droege and they basically set up base in my town starting an organization called the 'White heritage Front'. There was a huge recruitment phase after they set up shop in the early 90's and my town turned into a skinhead paradise. As a white kid....you couldn't hang out around the town without getting recruiting pamphlets. My high school was shut down on several different occasions because Droege held protests there. It was national news here in Canada. Droege ended up getting murdered by another neo-nazi because of a love triangle situation.
It sounds ridiculous...but I was specifically targetted because I wore a Public Enemy t-shirt and had a group of friends that was interracial. I've posted this here before but this was my highschool:
Fast forward to the 50 second mark if you wanna skip the song. This was my peer group....I knew every kid in this video. It was pretty crazy....there were alot of white kids who literally went from doing the running man in addidas track suits to becoming a skinhead and having an identity make-over within a week. In anycase....I was terrorized by these guys for around 2 to 3 years. I even joined an antifa-type group called ARA (Anti-racist action). That was a lesson in it of itself.

I read something about the origins of skinheads years ago, and I found it interesting that the original US skinheads weren't the 'alt-right' version that we typically associate with them, but rather there was a ideological split, leading to the 'punks vs skinheads'
Wondering if it's like the Hell's Angels... even though there are most-likely a majority of racist members, most of their violence is directed towards other white people.
There's alot of different contexts right? I'm sure alot of the social dynamics are different in the prisons then they are in poor white communities. In my town....they definitely beat up more white kids but I think that was more a pragmatic trend. The big fights where the skinheads actually fight a racial minority would be a huge thing and tons of back and forth. They had to be prepared for war right? Whereas beating up white people can happen under the radar with no consequences. Its not liked they planned to get me and my friends. We were easy lunch type of thing. As for white people in general yeah, I'd say more volume but less intensity. Neo-Nazis are very hierarchical. The stereotype of the one brainer kid gone bad leading a bunch of fat, drunken assholes rang pretty true in my experiences. I hadn't seen the movie 'American History X' until a couple years ago and was surprised by how much it rang true. They're heavily structured except the structure is the most basic, chimpanzee-like format lol. One idealogical leader and a bunch of dolts becoming drunk robots. Occasionally one of them will try to knock off the leader but that's about it. And they're being funded by an older, more established backer and he's pulling the strings with a series of brainer gone bad types running shit in different regions.
I can't overstate how WRONG the popular sentiment of 'the alt-right are just nazis under a new flag'. Or whatever the saying is. Same shit different day. NO. They are completely different from Neo-nazi skinhead type culture. They are much less hierarchical. The Social networks they're growing in are very complex but emphasized less in importance. They do NOT have a backer, puppet-master figure pulling strings and connecting regions. It's a completely different social framework and that presents a much different threat. The past couple weeks....I've started wondering if we've seen the Alt-right's peak. I've been getting the feeling that their gradual decline could be underway. I think Charlottesville might have killed their momentum. In the post about that...I suggested that the alt-right had won (meaning it was a pr victory). I was VERY VERY WRONG and am happy as hell to own that one.
Hot takes: The alt-right presents a much more existential threat to the US than neo-nazi skinheads or the KKK. They're not trying to win by preaching ridiculous race war narratives...they're trying to win CULTURALLY. And they know that's potentially the most dangerous way to do it. There needs to be talking to young white kids about the propaganda that the alt-right uses. Kids need to be familiar with the counter-arguments BEFORE they hear the sales pitch. Parents, guardians, mentors should be talking to their kids about it and not being general. Being very specific about the ALT RIGHT and how they use common sense talking points to lure people into these disgusting racist worldviews.
