that was mostly run by the students themselves, with full blown actual real deal city busses. Would you have liked to have been a driver? I would have jumped on that if I had a license when I was in college. Last night just surfing the net I found out UC Davis has such a system.
And you have a commercial drivers license that you can use for other stuff when you graduate if you want. Like drive a charter bus, be able to drive a bus for organziations you belong to or if you were to apply for a job at a transportation agency you can add that experience to the resume.
we had a similar sort of thing, initially with an old bus (that i guess broke down) and then later with big conversion vans. they picked up drunk ass kids around IV and Goleta. you paid whatever you could/thought was fair. plenty paid nothing, plenty paid like it was a cab, others whatever couple bucks they had on them.
while i appreciated, used and kicked in for the service, would i have been involved with it? fuck no. a bunch of drunk entitled shits throwing up and stiffing you? not really compatible with my temperament. i see the fun side also, i guess, but i could ride the bus and have the same fun or more.

that was cute. students could ride the UChicago routes for free but there were no transfers to the regular CTA routes. and the gen population could ride at a regular CTA fare.

it wasn't on campus but he drove to the Woodlawn Mall from downtown Richmond.
My wife said he would see white people at the bus stop by themselves and say "cracker ass cracker" and wouldn't stop.
Don't let it rain too, he would hit ALLLL the puddles.
That bus only ran once every 2 hours it seemed so folks were ass out.
