So I went straight to Equifax.com and followed a few links that eventually led me to this same place. So I think it's legit, but you might want to approach it the same way I did.

Dunno how much this might help since the damage could occur down the road if information may get compromised later on, but go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action to get free credit reports from Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. Those reports will show if anything out of the ordinary occurred with your financial transactions.

I think it's time. If the Trump presidency doesn't push us over the edge I don't know what could.
Time for a fresh start.
But seriously, I think this is about the sixth time all of this shit was breached for me. I'm getting kinda numb to it. The government needs to implement something more secure than a nine-digit number as the fundamental verification of our personhood. Is it really just "mark of the beast" lunatics keeping that from happening?

Just assume that information is public.
I couldn't care less if some wacko opens up a bunch of credit cards in my name. Yeah, maybe it'll be a hassle to clean up the credit; but I've got a house, I have a car...I'm pretty sure I could get anything cleaned up before I need to get any of those things again (and you really should be checking your *free* credit report annually anyway).
What I care about is someone futzing with an account that I already own causing *real* havoc and headache in my life. Credit monitoring doesn't help that. Do the companies I work with have Red Flag training so they know what to look for when folks are trying to make fraudulent transactions? Can I opt to use some other type of authenticator to gain access to my account? (Yeah, it's cool you know the DoB...but you need this other token?
