i totally understood where she was coming from.
i can't see myself having lived through all of that b/s. i'd have definitely tried suicide - since i wouldn't have known what i know about the likelihood of surviving. hell, back then i probably had a greater chance of succeeding at suicide b/c medicine wasn't as good then and as a slave they wouldn't have offered me the best post-suicide care to begin with.
