"Who is the Lil Peep character supposed to be for?"

Taking a break from the heavy shit in the world to think about the confusing and trivial.

Why is this being treated like hiphop? If this guy is purely for 14 year old white girls, how does Drake respond?

But it all has to be influenced by or in service of his drug use, which I really don't understand why it's being celebrated so much.

And here's another thing: all those people, who had varying degrees of skill from total garbage to somewhat garbage, at least tried to rap. This dude is just singing bars of varying lengths with no word play or rhyme structure...that's not hiphop.

The Emo Rap movement is basically the new "Warped Tour" fanbase...

Uzi Vert, Peep, Trippy Red, XXXtentacion and the rest...

Angsty white kids....

Lil Peep wins the Angsty Heart throb awards though so my money is on him taking all the cake if he finds a hit as good as XO Tour Life

I'm gonna do it, because now I feel like I have to know.

*edit* did you mean brony culture? Nothing came up for pony culture except that. Which seems to possibly be what you were talking about because of its absurdity.

What's kinda nuts is how young these dudes are; like when Desus and Mero were making fun of Lil Pump (yeah i know) who had a xanax shaped birthday cake for his 17th(!!!) birthday.

Not to say that the music industry doesn't have a hidden hard-on for shitty rock and roll self destruction

But its weird to me that these kids are running around with no-one to check em but still corporations are profiting. At least in the old days the record companies cared even if it was just to get you to show up to promote shit

Previously there was a barrier of "quality" for kids that would be lining up to destroy themselves for fame. Now, you can just say a name brand over and over again of a shitty beat and kids will lap it up if the character saying it is absurd enough.

Figured if they could found a way to ship his ass to Paris to rep at Balmain for Fashion week earlier this year, they could have at least shipped his ass to rehab too.

When niggas were just seen as little plastic round CD disks at least there was some iota of compassion, A&R rep might try to keep ya straight, record company might sneak ya off to Betty Ford and say its for 'exhaustion'.

Now that you're just literally a streaming click to them it's going to get uglier.

It's where I don't even care if I sound old....a lot of this new era is just.........yeah. It will NOOOOOOOOOOOOT be played in 10-15 years, which is the truest test of if something is actually garbage or not.

R.I.P. to dude though
