collar breaks suck. they don't heal evenly, depending on the break.
at least you were doing something cool. I broke mine while running with the dog. he jumped in front of me and I fell onto the track. an old ass gravel track.
my whole left side was screwed up with abrasions. skin on my palms peeled back. hit my head. just a mess.
didn't have my phone and had to drive home all fucked up.

Luckily the little one is too young to know or remember, but I'm sure his big brother will fill him in on the events of that epic spill.
The older one was concerned at first, then thought it was kinda funny (because I'm sure it was). But once he saw some blood on my head it wasn't funny for him anymore. He's a good kid.

my wife's family is sick when it comes to people falling. Laugh first ask questions after. They always tell this story about her mom getting thrown off a horse called nightmare. Im like damn Superman got paralyzed that way. It aint funny. But they die laughing. They also used to make fun of their grandpa who had to use one of those voice boxes to talk and had one leg. Man they would hop around and put a remote up to their neck and talk like a robot. Who am I? Who am I? Their grandpa would be dying laughing. Fucking sick family I married into.

I wouldn't dream of riding my motorcycle around without a helmet, so it made me think hard about riding *anything* without a helmet. Whack your head once on the curb without a helmet and you might be done, no matter if it's from a motorcycle, bicycle, skateboard, segway, etc.
