"OKfit: what's your favorite or most effective workout?"

I'm looking to add some moves to my workouts. I don't have a ton of time since I use the work gym during lunch. so any tips with efficient or combo moves to hit multiple muscle groups are welcome.

whatchu got?

1. consume angel dust, wet, pcp, meth
2. become the hulk
3. do 4 sets of 400 pull ups. on the street. on the street corner. On the street corner at a stop light.
4. do 5 sets of deadlifts using an '95 Miata

finish off the set with a nice cold 40.

want more development in my upper body mostly. and to flatten my midsection. I'll need to work on my diet too.

for legs, I do two types of squats depending on the day mood that day, sumo and regular back squats. legs curls, extensions, calf raises.

for chest, bench press. not too often tho since I'm in the gym with no spoter most times. otherwise, dumb bell press, flies.

back/shoulders. I hate working shoulders by themselves so I try to do excercises that'll grab them, but with other stuff. standing overhead press, rows occasionally.

I was running 2-3 times a week til the 10k on July 4th. will switch to biking once a week based on time.

any other combos to suggest?

I used to spend hours in the gym lifting and doing long cardio sessions, but time is at a premium these days.

If I get in and row for 20min., followed by a few kettlebell and rope routines I leave feeling like I did something.

Plus I'm buidling a collection of various size kettlebells, so I can get it done at home.

but kettles recruit more muscle groups. They're much better if you're looking for an all over, dynamic workout.

Dumbbells are better for isolation exercises.

I still got bird legs though. they've gotten stronger and more defined, but not really much bigger. I'm actually cool with that tho.

which deadlift do you like better, barbell or dumb bell?

Dumbells are ok, but I need something heavier after I warm up. The bar I can just keep adding plates to.

i alternate between weighted (holding 30 lb kettlebell) or nonweighted (raise it 6-8" up from weighted). depending on how explosive im feeling. the weighted ones i have to psych myself up for. but i usually do 3 or 4 sets of whichever one i do in a workout.

then sometimes i do some one legged box jumps at a lower height.

good for balance, explosiveness and strength. i've noticed a big difference on the court since doing those. being able to stay up in the air longer than you expect is a bit frightening at first. i was turning my ankles left and right until i got used to the new timing.

I walk a lot so I get exercise that way. I also do wall press ups which I can fit in in-between doing other stuff - I sometimes do them during my break at work. I've got hand weights because I want to have more upper body strength. It's really just a bit here and a bit there at the moment.
