You puttin out a book anytime soon? been really enjoying the work.

DIGITAL:
i'm slowly building up my setup and i'm honestly not sure why. i'm just compelled to keep shooting. Since i'm not really trying to make money, my goal is to fit a studio into one bag.

X-Pro 1, 27mm, Canon 540ez

Since the last post i got:
Fuji XF 18-55
small Neewer octabox
Yongnuo yn560 iv with a 560-tx
a couple ProMaster LS-CT travel light stands
Dolica TX570DS travel tripod
and a couple of poverty wizards

i have a cheap stand and umbrella i was using before the travel stands came today so i might have to retire that one. i was using a tripod as my 2nd light stand.

But basically i can fit the camera, both lenses, a light and a tripod in a regular backpack, and i can fit all that plus another lite, both stands, the octabox and some modifiers, clips, etc in my larger Hershel bag.

i got a Rogue grid today and i'm gonna try out some more directional light and start playing with gels

Here're some of my favs

https://www.instagram.com/p/BSvzXDWhaCk/
this is a set from my friends wedding anniversary. I took the 27mm and a small JCPenny film flash that had no power settings and just shot at f/11 all night. I brought the Nishika n8000 with me too, but i haven't developed those yet. These are probably the best images i captured so far this year and this is only 10 of them.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BTjMQ6rhQMo/
These, we went to a parking garage of this massive newly renovated building in town. It doesn't officially open until August, so the top floors of the garage are completely empty, but really well lit, as are the stairwells. i thought it was good for a few shots. This was maybe a week before i bought the 16-55 so these are shot with the 27mm.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BTsm5uxh5Ja/
A friend asked me to shoot his sister before prom. I took some equipment but again, i ended up only needing the 27mm. The prints looked spectaculare and the screen doesn't do these justice.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BVkNKHjlPxk/
These were shot last Sunday. This is my current home/away setup. 2 lights (the Canon in the octabox and the JCPenny behind an umbrella), and the 18-55. The batteries in the canon died part way through so i had to get some rubber bands and rig the JCPenny one in to the S-bracket.

I'm also making a couple zines. One for b/w street photography i captured between 2015-16 with my Pentax Q-S1 (which i need to break out again) and various film cameras. The other is street/architecture from 2016-17 (https://instagram.com/fourcolorblack). Both will be out July 21 locally and if i have extras, i'll put em up for sale online.

FILM:
I have a ton of rolls to develop. I just reupped on C41 chemicals, but they won't be here til next week.

Bought a Polaroid Land 101. Unfortunately late to the pull-apart party, but i'm loving reclaiming these big ass negatives.

Still haven't been able to find a good off-camera flash solution for the Bronica. I think i need to see if its the PC cable as thats the only thing i havent changed. Its just not firing reliably enough to try with film. I'd like to do some portraits with it, but its a no-go until i get the flash sorted out.

Damn! that's a lot of stuff brother; luckily you put it to good use with some great results.

I've seen that you have been working on your lighting game! Those are some good portraits man.
My only advice to you is just to keep shooting and master the lighting gear that you have ( by the looks of it; you nail the natural light look already and your on your way with the strobes ) and maybe intern and assist if you have time. Assisting with 100% take your game to the next level and beyond.

I was thinking of doing some kind of zine this summer as well; also with film; dunno what the subject would be tho. Been sitting on some Lomo Redscale & Daylight / Illford 400-1600-3200 B&W/ Kodak Ektar

my 40d died and Im saving up for a new thing

not sure which direction i want to go into

As much as I would love a full frame camera its just not in the budget so I've been thinking about the next camera and I'm fine with APS-C

I'm also considering buying another Contax t2 to replace the one I sold years ago but prices have doubled

Actually fuck it, I'm also considering another TLR instead of a compact film camera but I'm not sure if having 120/220 rolls developed and scanned would be digging a hole in my wallet.

Zooms offer versatility which is obviously value for money for the average consumer

i don't wanna replace that, i'd just like for them to ALSO offer a 35 or 50mm equivalent prime kit too.

either way, i don't think primes are as big of a barrier as they used to be.

To a Fuji x100f. So far I really like it, love the controls and physical layout vs my old canon t5i. It suits my shooting style, mostly street photography.

give me some pros and cons of this camera if you have a chance.

Con - can't change the lens, expensive

Pro - small, easy to change settings on the go, I find the menu more intuitive than my canon, lots of customizable function buttons, it's fun to use, great retro looks, picture quality is fantastic

for all intents and purposes, its a toy camera with a sensor thats better than it should be.

35mm fixed 2.8. Seems like its a zone focus viewfinder camera.
plastic

its a weird camera but they seem to be interested in adding more features like a pc port

i think they have a small problem on their hands by not releasing enough info. I had to PM them to ask about some of the features and found out a lot of whats on the body was for show, and i'm afraid people are gonna be pretty mad if they get something with the build quality of a Holga or something you find at a flea market.

judging by the timeline on the Kickstarter, they started the project in May with orders supposed to come out in April. With as many people asking for something more premium like a metal body and how set they seem to be with the production, i'm not sure they're gonna change much about it. I'm bracing for some disappointment if the stretch goals don't deliver.

i was either going to go for the 80D or a 7D mkii. In the end the 80D just made more sense. This thing is a quite an upgrade from the 40D. I can shoot an image on the camera and zap it right over to my iphone or even my wife's phone. For that feature alone I am really into this thing.
