You puttin out a book anytime soon? been really enjoying the work.
DIGITAL: i'm slowly building up my setup and i'm honestly not sure why. i'm just compelled to keep shooting. Since i'm not really trying to make money, my goal is to fit a studio into one bag.
X-Pro 1, 27mm, Canon 540ez
Since the last post i got: Fuji XF 18-55 small Neewer octabox Yongnuo yn560 iv with a 560-tx a couple ProMaster LS-CT travel light stands Dolica TX570DS travel tripod and a couple of poverty wizards
i have a cheap stand and umbrella i was using before the travel stands came today so i might have to retire that one. i was using a tripod as my 2nd light stand.
But basically i can fit the camera, both lenses, a light and a tripod in a regular backpack, and i can fit all that plus another lite, both stands, the octabox and some modifiers, clips, etc in my larger Hershel bag.
i got a Rogue grid today and i'm gonna try out some more directional light and start playing with gels
Here're some of my favs
https://www.instagram.com/p/BSvzXDWhaCk/ this is a set from my friends wedding anniversary. I took the 27mm and a small JCPenny film flash that had no power settings and just shot at f/11 all night. I brought the Nishika n8000 with me too, but i haven't developed those yet. These are probably the best images i captured so far this year and this is only 10 of them.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BTjMQ6rhQMo/ These, we went to a parking garage of this massive newly renovated building in town. It doesn't officially open until August, so the top floors of the garage are completely empty, but really well lit, as are the stairwells. i thought it was good for a few shots. This was maybe a week before i bought the 16-55 so these are shot with the 27mm.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BTsm5uxh5Ja/ A friend asked me to shoot his sister before prom. I took some equipment but again, i ended up only needing the 27mm. The prints looked spectaculare and the screen doesn't do these justice.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BVkNKHjlPxk/ These were shot last Sunday. This is my current home/away setup. 2 lights (the Canon in the octabox and the JCPenny behind an umbrella), and the 18-55. The batteries in the canon died part way through so i had to get some rubber bands and rig the JCPenny one in to the S-bracket.
I'm also making a couple zines. One for b/w street photography i captured between 2015-16 with my Pentax Q-S1 (which i need to break out again) and various film cameras. The other is street/architecture from 2016-17 (https://instagram.com/fourcolorblack). Both will be out July 21 locally and if i have extras, i'll put em up for sale online.
FILM: I have a ton of rolls to develop. I just reupped on C41 chemicals, but they won't be here til next week.
Bought a Polaroid Land 101. Unfortunately late to the pull-apart party, but i'm loving reclaiming these big ass negatives.
Still haven't been able to find a good off-camera flash solution for the Bronica. I think i need to see if its the PC cable as thats the only thing i havent changed. Its just not firing reliably enough to try with film. I'd like to do some portraits with it, but its a no-go until i get the flash sorted out.
