" Bachelor on Paradise shut down over drunk nonconsent"

white girl says she didn't consent to sexual contact in the pool. She has a boyfriend at home and would NEVER do that.

WTF? Your own a show called...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bachelor-in-paradise-cast-upset-that-crew-members-let-sexual-incident-go-too-far_us_593ecd5be4b0b13f2c6cdc6b?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009

Bachelor Nation is devastated as updates concerning the incident that halted production on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise” roll in.

ABC and Warner Bros. suspended filming and sent home all cast members on Sunday after “allegations of misconduct,” reportedly between contestants Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson, emerged, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Warner Bros. said that they would be conducting an investigation into the situation and “will take appropriate responsive action” once it’s complete. But the cast and crew are already speaking out about what actually went down in Mexico.

According to TMZ, a field producer reportedly filed a complaint claiming Olympios was too drunk to consent to Jackson’s actions, which were allegedly sexual in nature, in a swimming pool. Sources close to Olympios told the site that she claims she did not agree to sexual contact and was “in a blackout state” when the incident occurred. Jackson, however, reportedly claims the hook-up was consensual.

Allegedly, fellow cast members told an unaware Olympios what happened in the days following the situation, explaining that crew members did not listen to them when they voiced concern. Production sources, however, tell TMZ otherwise.

Choosing to remain anonymous, one contestant told People that the cast is “pissed” and “angry” with crew members who allowed the inappropriate sexual encounter to happen.

“People are pissed, and not just at DeMario,” the contestant said, adding that two other cast members saw the interaction between Jackson and Olympios. “We’re pissed that this whole thing happened. They could have seen that she was drinking too much and that he was taking advantage. They could have stopped this before it got this far. But they decided to let it go, and let it happen, and see what happened? So, I’m angry at the show, and everyone else is too.”

Although the unfortunate situation has caused Warner Bros. to suspend filming on the show, Entertainment Weekly reports that “Bachelor in Paradise” is not necessarily in jeopardy. The investigation will need to be concluded “before any next steps,” ABC Entertainment Group President Channing Dungey told Entertainment Weekly.

“The show absolutely values the primacy of consent, and this instance it appears as though conduct allegedly occurred without the proper consent having been given,” a source within the show told People.

“Bachelor in Paradise,” which brings together former contestants of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” for another shot at love on the beaches of Mexico, was set to debut Aug. 8. This is the first time in its 15-year history that production has been halted on a show in the “Bachelor” franchise, aside from circumstances involving weather or location changes.

Some of the cast members have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the matter, but did not respond to HuffPost when asked for comments. HuffPost has also reached out to ABC, Olympios and Jackson for updates and statements.

When it makes sense (can't do that in a survivor type place) plying reality tv show 'actors' with alcohol is apparently a thing with show producers to try to catch off the cuff moments for years.

As a person who has many blackout drunk nights, it doesn't mean you are incapacitated or unconscious, it just means you don't remember anything that happened the night before.

Theres tape of whatever happened here so there shouldn't be a lot of doubt about what happened.

but I hate being this guy, looking at the trailer of the cast, having passively seen a few of those shows, knowing a nigga named Demario is gonna be a nigga, and knowing how Hollywood/LA racist the cast members and the production staff will most likely be...lets just say the unfortunate POSITIVE outcome of this is that Demario actually was trying to get his casper (c)Kids on and deserves to go to big boy jail for a long time.

I mean, it might help clarify *some* things... but if she seriously didn't remember hooking up... that's a problem for the show. Big time.

I'm someone who loses memory when I drink too much, but I seem to remain astonishingly lucid. So it *could* happen. Not to say Corinne is definitely telling the truth... but I'm not going to question her version exclusively based on footage unless she's on camera *not* taking dumb amounts of shots for hours. (She prob is tho. It's Corinne.)

People hop on these things with 'real' lives that don't jive with what they put on the show just for that check and a bit of fame.

My thing here is that it just smells so fishy; like the cast knows whats going on, the cameras know what's going on, after it happens they don't 'investigate' but let the show play on while she pieces together what happened when she was black out drunk?

Whatever scenario turns out to be true all I know is that it makes me lose a bit more faith in humanity, lol.

boyfriends/girlfriends/what have you. they do it for fame. reality tv is an easy way to get on tv and become "known." it's all fake and no one really ends up together in the end. my ex's sister was on one season, she had a boyfriend, but she just wanted her modeling and singing career to take off. that's what all of these "date me" shows are about.

he found out and was trying to talk her out of the show and all this and she was just kinda playing him off which was a little foul on her part cuz some stuff she said was giving him hope when she really had no intention of being with him.

then when she popped up on TV that just set him off on some "fuck her" shit.

i don't blame either of them. i mean, i guess you can side-eye her a little for WANTING to go on reality TV (especially a show where if you win you're SUPPOSED to marry someone, lol) but my boy wasn't ultimately gonna hold a girl like her down like she needed.

they were on different paths.

It's a recipe for some to take advantage as well as a recipe for others to have buyer's remorse.

I don't care enough to dig into the particulars of this specific situation but it just seems like these shows are ripe for a situation like this one.

i read that both ppl were shown a video of the hook up during the confessional and were asked questions, and that's really how the girl found out about it. it wasn't the other cast members telling her. this is a secret insider board.

One girl had a BF and had her schtick down pat. All fluffy and filled with lies and shit. She was rehearsing in the car and her first phone rang and it was a producer who loved her video clip and wanted to make sure she was going to show up to the audition.

she had a boyfriend too.

http://decider.com/2017/06/14/it-was-like-a-porn-scene-bachelor-in-paradise-inside-source-claims-corinne-was-the-aggressor-in-sex-scandal/?_ga=2.186393645.522797897.1497470560-1227618087.1494259303

In what seems to be a never-ending saga involving an alleged sexual assault on the set of Bachelor in Paradise, a new source has come forward with claims that directly contradict the accusations made against contestant DeMario Jackson by Corinne Olympios. The ABC Bachelor spin-off was suspended earlier this week after a crew member revealed harrowing details regarding Olympios’ assault, claiming that she “seemed to go limp” and appeared to be unconscious while Jackson performed sexual acts on her. Following reports that Warner Bros. would begin investigating the allegations, a friend of DeMario Jackson anonymously spoke with The Daily Mail and insists that the story being documented by the media is backwards.

“It all started in the bar where DeMario was hanging out,” the source claims. “She then grabbed his hand and said let’s go to the pool… They were hanging out, making out, kissing, fingering. This is all on tape. There were cameras around, producers, there’s everybody. This was all being filmed for the show.” The source also recounts that Olympios, 24, told Jackson, 30, to take off his clothes, and she rebuffed her offers for sexual contact, as he had drank too much alcohol to perform.

Corrine came right above him and puts her p***y right in his face and he starts going down on her. There’s a cameraman right there. Nobody is saying anything. It was like a porn scene…This whole thing about Corrine being limp and sliding underwater is bullsh*t. She was not blackout drunk… She wasn’t limp. She was fine… From that point she fooled around with three different guys. Derek , Nick , and Alex . They all happen to be white. DeMario is black. I’m just saying.

don't know what her end goal was (saving her relationship i guess) but she was really about to let someone go to jail b/c she got tipsy.

Run to the ER if you have to escape from her because it's better to go to the hospital then to get hit with the post sex reputation shaming charges.

Tell her you abstinent, tell her you have an emergency and need to go to the ER. Do anything to get out of it especially if she's wholesome and comes from a good home. Call an Uber and send her home documenting it the whole time via Duo/Facetime.

It's a bit different then lets say an corporate sex scandal cover-up where you hope it fades away; not only would they be on the hook legally the show is one of their cash cows and any further damage would hurt their pockets; it would be in their best interest to cut any of the cancers out immediately even if producers/cast, etc gotta fall on the sword.

lawyers probably wanted to make sure that any further police investigation wouldn't hem them up in any way. That's why I said the evidence must have been overwhelming in homeboy's favor. They went into this almost certainly predisposed to believing her, just as a matter of course to be on the safe side.

Again, the local police will have the ability to investigate this to their heart's content. WB's decision to have the show go forward is completely separate from that. All WB is saying is they looked into it and think they're on firm ground to not be criminally or legally liable.

If they thought for a second that they might be facing some sort of criminal or legal exposure, they'd have canned dude and maybe the whole season (which is why they suspended production immediately).

Edited to add: believing her out of the gate is the safer, more conservative route from the perspective of the show. Worst case scenario is he raped her and they will face some sort of huge lawsuit from her and/or someone on the staff will be criminally charged. The best case scenario, as far as their pockets are concerned, is that she lied and no rape occurred. Corporate lawyers (should and usually do) have pessimistic, worst-case-scenario outlooks wrt high-risk situations.

I don't think they need to cover anything up. They can 'evaluate' the facts however they want. Their standards or interpretation of the facts might not be the same as a DA's standard for prosecution or a jury's standard for conviction, especially when they got millions upon millions of dollars at stake in terms of a television franchise and a lawsuit. Of course they're gonna say 'nope she wasn't too drunk to consent' when they're the ones who supplied the booze.

To be real, I feel like dude probably didn't do anything wrong. But WB's investigation wasn't about whether or not dude forced her to do anything. They're just saying, we don't think she was that drunk, so not rape. Too Drunk To Consent is one of those things with a lot of gray area.

man of rape after initiating sex with him.
This particular trick of getting hers and THEN
accusing the Black man of rape has been popular
since slavery.

Oh white woman...
Lynchings been fueled by their accusations of
rape, attempted rape, and stare since Jim Crow.
This is the origin of feminism.
Public opinion lynchings are still fueled
by the same very often.
Oh man, all the levels.

The white woman's piety was established in contrast to the savage brute rapist myth of the black and native male. Not only did they feel we were unfit for freedom, but they also felt our demise was necessary in order for them to take (what they perceived as) their rightful place as oppressor beside the white male... that's the white woman's burden... to rule the negro beside her man. Rape accusation and her supposed piety were the first weapons she used toward that end. Thus the myth of the Black male rapist is inextricably married to feminism. The original Birth of a Nation (1915) was as much a feminist film as it was a KKK film when you examine it, as the KKK was born at the height of the southern feminist movement. Looking at why they hunted the Black male down in that movie provides plenty insight.
The white woman's purity has been not only her own weapon, but the excuse for public lynchings whether she was involved or not. Most importantly tho, she's used that as her main tool in inheriting the white man's burden of "civilizing" (read:ruling) non-white people.

There have been a shit load of Black men killed, locked up, lynched because a white woman lied about being raped. What's sad is most times these white men knownthese women are lying but they don't want to admit their women love Black dick.

My boy did 2 months in jail because a girl lied about being raped when her parents found out about her having sex with a Black man.

Oh they definitely know it's a lie, but they want the negro dead for it anyway.
What's often overlooked about Dylann Roof is that he said "You've raped our women" while shooting up that church. His "manifesto" also read:
"I have noticed a great disdain for race mixing White women within the White nationalists community, bordering on insanity it. These women are victims, and they can be saved. Stop."
Elliot Rodgers also had that long video talking about white women sleeping with Black men.
Dr. Welsing been told us they consider us sleeping with their women an act of violence, hence the gun as the "great equalizer." This is why a Black man cannot be innocent of rape (especially of a white woman) in their eyes. All sex between Black males and white women is rape to them.

Extremely common throughout history.

I agree that there is a troubling history and ongoing pattern of white women making false accusations against black men, but your link to feminism is questionable. The original birth of a nation featured a white woman as the damsel in distress who needs to be rescued. Where's the feminism in that? We all know that the (white) feminist movement has issues with race, but you're reaching a bit on this one.

I don't think its a similar situation with other past minorities (Irish, Italian) where they were given seats in first class to firm up a racial class identity to make it easier to shit on the darker minorties in coach.

The rise of the feminist movement and various Jim Crow era post slavery sabotage aren't that interlinked; the marginalization of the diaspora was happening anyway. Their gains weren't made on our backs as it will, athough as Chappelle said 'They were in on the heist', lol

Oh really? That is completely false.
The Black male rapist was the subject of many feminist addresses, and women's rights was framed as resistance to the negro rapist, but don't take my word for it... read for yourself, and really let this first one sink in.

“I do not want to see a negro man walk to the polls and vote on who should handle my tax money, while I myself cannot vote at all…When there is not enough religion in the pulpit to organize a crusade against sin; nor justice in the court house to promptly punish crime; nor manhood enough in the nation to put a sheltering arm about innocence and virtue—-if it needs lynching to protect woman’s dearest possession from the ravening human beasts—-then I say lynch, a thousand times a week if necessary.” - Rebecca Ann Latimer Felton, 1835-1930 (First woman to serve in the Senate)

“White supremacy will be strengthened, not weakened, by women’s suffrage.” - Carrie Chapman Catt, 1859-1947 (Founder of the League of Women Voters)

""(Stanton) didn't just stand on the moral high ground. She also descended to some rather ugly racist rhetoric along the lines of, 'We educated, virtuous white women are more worthy of the vote.' ... She talked about how much worse black men would be as voters than the white women about whom she was concerned, and she was really quite dismissive of black women's claims. ... There were some comments about, 'What will we and our daughters suffer if these degraded black men are allowed to have the rights that would make them even worse than our Saxon fathers?' She has one, I think, inexplicable comment about black women an even worse slavery under black men than they did under their former white slave owners."

"The old anti slavery school says women must stand back and wait until the negroes shall be recognized. But we say, if you will not give the whole loaf of suffrage to the entire people, give it to the most intelligent first. If intelligence, justice, and morality are to have precedence in the government, let the question of the woman be brought up first and that of the negro last." - Elizabeth C. Stanton

“The white men, reinforced by the educated white women, could ‘snow under’ the Negro vote in every State, and the white race would maintain its supremacy without corrupting or intimidating the Negroes.” - Laura Clay, 1849-1940 (Founder of Kentucky’s first suffrage group)

"European women were not only bearers of racist beliefs, but hardline operatives who put them in place... fostering new racial antagonisms, formerly muted by sexual acces" - Ann L. Stoler, anthropologist

Historians such as Allison Sneider, Margaret Jacobs, and Louise Newman have established that the quest for women's rights, and what is generally understood as a complement to the imperial-patriarchal endeavor rather than a challenge to it.

To add to that, ethnologists said Black men were biologically predisposed to rape, considering uncontrollable, insatiable, and dangerous. These were respected scientists of the time, so when we talk about white suffragists referring to Black men as "ravening human beasts" you have to understand the accepted science of the time. Even when bluebear refers to the original Birth of a Nation, he isn't putting it in proper context of the time and therefore totally misunderstands the film.

>athough as
>Chappelle said 'They were in on the heist', lol

I mostly gave you stuff you can't find on the internet,
because I have very little faith that someone
who cites Dave Chappelle in this discussion is
going to pick up a book.

Word... Aside from being generally
annoyed at the popular narrative of
feminism, I lose patience with factless
arguments, so my apologies for coming
across hostile.
"The Man-Not: Race, Class, Genre and
the Dilemmas of Black Manhood" by Dr.
Tommy J. Curry is probably the most
comprehensive book for further research
if you're interested. Extremely dense
with information and insight and one of
the most important books ever written imo.
He also cites many other authors and books
that'll have you with a whole new library
if you get all those.
Got my copy early because I preordered it far
in advance, but it's slated to come out
July 1st of this year. I saw someone online
say they already got theirs too.

I literally just outlined that for you.
The KKK used white women's purity as the
reasoning for lynchings, often bringing
them along to flaunt as victims.
White women used their purity as a weapon
to debase Black men in order to exalt themselves.
Let me know which part is unclear.

Listen man, if you never made the
connection, it'd be much more constructive
to simply admit that than to accuse me of
"reaching."
You also left out the fact that the original
Birth of a Nation centered around the myth
of the Black male rapist... a myth that
was considered scientific fact back then
according to an "ethnology institute"
founded in 1842. White feminist are
literally on record talking about the
necessity of exterminating the negro, as
he posed a threat to her rise to her
natural place of "civilizer" beside the
white male... Margaret Sanger, Elizabeth
C. Stanton, etc. This IS feminism. Please
research these things before you respond.

This guy appears to have been informally proven innocent, so he's good, more or less. Nate's lawyers were successful in convincing the jury, but the "evidence" that the public got a hold of last year made him seem like a grade-A asshole jock. It's a short leap from that to "probable rapist". That's the price Nate had and has to pay for staying out of jail. PLUS the girl killed herself years later, which is a fact that was not placed in Nate's plus column. Without proof of his innocence, he won't be able to escape that.

Bachelor in Paradise's DeMario Jackson Says He's Spending Valentine's Day With Corinne Olympios

During former Bachelorette contestant Eric Bigger’s podcast, Bigger Talks, on Wednesday, Jackson shared details of his friendly relationship with Olympios, even sharing their Valentine’s Day date plans.

“I can’t wait for tonight,” he said.

“Just for the fact that – you know, we’re homies. We’re really good friends, and you know, we just enjoy each other’s company and we like to take things slow,” Jackson added.

Further clarifying, “We hang out. We have fun, and you know, that’s it.”

Despite the BiP sex scandal that rocked season 4’s production last summer, Jackson and Olympios remain close.

The pair has been spotted out and about multiple times over the past few months, sharing a friendly embrace in late August, leaving TAO restaurant in Hollywood in late September, and most recently celebrating Halloween together in Los Angeles.

In October, Jackson opened up about his friendship with Olympios.

“In the media — the media wanted black versus white. They wanted angry black guy, they wanted this little white girl. But in reality, both of us were put against each other,” he said at the time.

“It was one of those things that people want us not to be friends. They want to paint a particular narrative. Even now the narrative is they’re friends now,” he explained. “It’s like, ‘Oh, it’s fake.’ It’s always you’re damned if you do, you’re damned if you don’t.”
