unfortunately our favorite neighbor is moving. I pray we don't get some idiots next door.
my street is prolly 60% Black, 35% white and 5% latino.

The neighborhood I grew up in is currently 77% black. Philly's so block-by-block that those stats have to be taken in context.
A few people were murdered on the block I grew up on, in at least two separate shootings. I grew up ok. I'd describe my neighborhood(s) as working class.

In our entire neighborhood, i'm not quite sure how may more black people there are...I don't know of any other Black families in our specific neighborhood....
With that said, within a 1 mile radius, there's probably MORE minorities than white people...or it's 50/50. Whites/Latino, Ethiopian, African, Black, black, Indian.
I grew up in a fairly mixed city of Greensboro...but I guess you'd say it was on the "white side of town". Even though my circle of friends was pretty much 100% Black.....because that's just how I was born to roll.

it's predominantly white but the street I grew up on was 80% Black and 20% italian.
small town but a strong tight knit black community. had a few white friends growing up but in the summer time once the street lights came on all the white kids went home it was on and poppin'
hide and go seek with 15 kids at night was THE SHIT!!!

to answer the question... not really. there's a few but not many. my son has always lived on this part of town so I ended up here. I'm planning to branch out more when niggas stop acting funny and be my friend.
I didn't grow up in the projects, we never went without food or shelter but, we were consider living in "poverty". One thing about it...I had a good mama...uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. My friend's mama's, uncles, aunts, cousins...

the hood I grew up in was a asian poverty stricken hood which now they own most of the restaurants and turned the hood into "Little Saigon" which is flourishing.

I had a job lined up and everything and then he said "we're located in Bensonhurst, know where that is?"
I was like.. yeaaahh. My sisters BF at the time told me since I don't have that accent or name they prolly thought I was someone else. All my people were like nah.. I won't get the job.
then later on that summer my boy from Philly was running all over NYC in his sisters car grinding metal. car broke down and they towed it to Bensonhurst. He said when they went to go pick it up they were screaming on folks "wTF you looking at. YEAH, I'M BLACK!!"
He was 6'-6" tho...

i can't stand my neighbors, sadly. annoyingly noisy. a sista and her 17/18-year-old son.
the kid never leaves the crib, except to occasionally go outside and live-stream himself on his phone... posing, dancing, whatever. the self-emasculation of young black men continues.
