"Murder rate in your city going up or down?"
Charlotte has 36 homicides this year, last year it was 17 at this point.
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

Bmore has more murders than NYC and Boston combined - by a considerable margin too. Let that sink in for a minute. Boston is more populous than Bmore and NYC is about 15x the size of Bmore. These are numbers not seen since ever, but you have to go back to the 90s and even then the city had 100,000+ more people.
On a side note it 's really depressing bc the city was making some serious strides for awhile there.

10. "There was a historic low in 2014 with 42 for the year" In response to Reply # 5
It jumped to 62 in 2015.
66 in 2016.
So it's been spiking and that's been the numbers in DC Bmore, St . Louis. Most major cities are climbing the last few years and wondering what the hell is the reason for the recent spike.

it's still as bad or worse, when it's not.
The worst thing we had lately was two years ago, the whole 100 days 100 nights...people were hella on edge. And a week before I had my annual BBQ, someone posted pics ALLLL over IG of two dudes who got their heads blown out, just a block and a half from my house in South Central. Surprisingly, everyone still came to my party and felt safe, mainly because most of them didn't happen to see the pics, or either didn't recognize where it happened. But that's really the only spike we've had in the last 13 years.

I know a lot of gangsters have moved to Lancaster and Palmdale, and even out of state. So can strangers roam around South LA freely? Walk thru the Tray hood or Sixties hood with no static?
It really is amazing how much the homicide rate has dropped in LA.

It's certain blocks that are a slight bit more active, mainly because you see the graffiti, but that's more on the Manchester side. The Florence side where I am is like more crackheads/hookers/alcoholics, but almost zero gangbangers. 60's hood is kinda the same....this super cute almost bougie chick I know bought a house on 54th East of Crenshaw, and I was warning her like "nah....don't do it." But she's been there six months, and has barely had any issues at all. So it's a whole different era.
Certain parts of South Central still get active, but it's just so much different. I go to gas stations in Crip hoods with a red jacket, and liquor stores in Blood hoods with a blue jacket, and never even get looked at or feel threatened.
