"he's only doing this to troll Obama and his supporters."

- Paris accord

- Obamacare

- Cuba relations

- Iran deal

- DOJ police investigations

...the list will grow.

the main reason the Orange Fool is doing any of this shit is to troll. he barely even knows what any of this shit is about - but he knows these are widely considered the cornerstones of Obama's legacy. so he wants to undo them.

he'd block the construction of the Obama Library if he could. he'll definitely look for a way to do that.

b/c he's a fucking troll.

Kathy Griffin was right. she shouldn't have apologized.

fuck you.

trump made it his mission in life to get revenge for that night
every other human being woulda been like "ha ha, you got me, good one!"
but insecure people are deeply wounded at any affront to their self-image and worth

hence the golden showers on the bed the Obamas slept on, and what we see now.

Hurt people hurt people

There is such a thing as going too far--and she went way too far.

Just because in the Obama years a bunch of (now) Trump supporters did the same thing, doesn't magically make it right.

She deserves the backlash she's getting now--the only shame is that the people who did the same thing to Obama didn't get the same treatment. While I generally point to racism, one big component is fame. If Ted Nugent had done something like that--it would have blown up too.

One final thought--this will be the poster for all that's wrong with non-Trumpians to his supporters. This is what they have been saying about liberals all these years, and Kathy just gave them a TON of fodder. All the Russia and healthcare missteps were just erased in the eyes of his supporters. Their voter turnout in the midterms is pretty much guaranteed to be through the roof now. Thanks to your buddy Kathy.

The left shouldn't help with that backlash. Call it wrong and leave it at that. Ted Nugent came close to this with his "I will be dead or in jail if Obama is elected" and the right didn't react to him the way the left is with Griffin.

Nah the Trump deplorables was saying and thinking this anyway, if they are coming out in the midterms they would anyway.

If only Obama would just bitchslap him, I would put money into the defense fund. Trump would like it. He's just looks like a cuckold, ironically. Speaks volumes about this country. This is their "gotcha" moment. He could nuke the entire plant and tell them well in advance and they would excuse it because "he's showing them!"

He is doing this, IMHOP, because this is the GOP Agenda and he has little interest in Agenda.

I think he had no idea what was in Trumpcare, but he just wanted to pass something so he can claim a victory.

He actually turned out to be the perfect president for Paul Ryan and the GOP Establishment because he will put his name on anything, laws, steaks, vodka, buildinds, etc. no matter how shitty they may be as long as his name is prominently displayed.

The Question is why is this the GOP Agenda? It can't be to Troll Obama because what they are doing is rolling back to policies that pre-date Obama. These are all Dick Cheney's positions and hardline republicans before him.

It's worth spending sometime reading about and understanding what motivates the Koch brothers and other conservatives to understand how racist, Hobbesian zero sum their world-view is. That Ayn Rand shit is scary as fuck and it all pre-dates Obama.

We should know our enemies better.

It's not the checks and balances that will stop a tyrant from seizing control of the country. It can only be the press and the citizens.

I disagree. Maybe not as well as we thought, but checks and balances are indeed working. The judicial has blocked actions multiple times. The congress denied the first attempt at Trumpcare, and this version will not pass the house in its current form by any means. There is significant resistance across the board. They own the house and senate so there shouldn't be. The Paris pull-out is a very bad look, but it presents an opportunity for democrats to understand the power of instituting change from the local and state level. Republicans have always used the states versus federal argument against Democrats and now we can use it to our advantage. Do not get me wrong, its not working like we thought it would but this is far from over and there are many avenues to take politically and publicly to fight for good.

I've read a couple of other places theat the deal was watered down a great deal to appease the US. Without us in the deal the remaining countries, which is everyone else, can up the standards.

It's about fighting back against the notion of American identity being anything other than heteronormative, patriarchal whiteness. Keep in mind that the most enduring attack on Obama has been an attack on his identity as an American.

Trump and the republicans complicit in his behavior do not want the American identity to be associated with Obama. They resent he was the face of America and that he was embraced as such globally. They are seeking to erase him and his legacy to restore American identity to whiteness.

That's what taking back the country is about. That's what making America great is about. That's why there's such a visceral rejection of Obama. The progress of the last few years has been about expanding American identity to include all the others (POC, immigrants, LGBTQI, etc.) and that's dangerous to a lot of people.

That's the animus Trump tapped into and that's what he's feeding to this day. It's why his base is still fervently behind him. It was never about economics or any of the bullshit they try to peddle. It was always about identity. That's why it doesn't matter how much he's messing up and how foolish he looks to the world. To them, he's taking back American identity. So, he's giving them exactly what they want.

bullsh!t for me??

There is some right wing bull$shit that I can at least say "I guess I could see how you would agree with that if you were wealthy/uninformed/racists/etc"...

but the whole "this is a plot to keep Murrica down!!!" ??

I just can't even wrap my brain around it.

What's that old quote? "I don't expect truth from you but I at least expect self preservation"?

Who do these people think are behind the conspiracy?

And what do they think said people stand to gain?

Like, why is johnny midwest so against stuff like this?

In response to Reply # 32

I get that people think it isn't man made.

I get that, based on the point above, people think any steps to curb it would be a waste of time and potentially kill jobs...and lord knows Murricans want to work in their factories till they drop dead.

But what I don't get, which I feel like I have seen in comment sections (shudders), twitter, etc is

That this is somehow a plot by the elite to control people.

The "climate change is an elitist/globalist plot" I just don't get.

What would elite globalists have to gain?

What would even scientists have to gain?, it's not like they couldn't study other sh!t.

and the pleasure of getting the common man to think about how much damage they are going to do to the ozone right before they light their grill.

I do find it hilarious how world leaders fly on jumbo jets and have a 15 car motorcade to talk about global warming. Shit seems ass backwards to me. Can't they video chat that shit?

IMO it's just hypocrisy at it's finest.

Then we have a bunch of Hollywood A list celebs screaming about saving the earth while living in 30 room mansions that consume an insane amount of energy.

but in the end I think it's just about the money.

Repealing, Dismantling, Deportation etc.
I can't think of anything being created since the elections.
I've read all kinds of explanations for GOP voters but I will never understand anyone who is not a ruthless Millionaire voting for them. They're against everyone.
