I am looking to upgrade my phone (Galaxy S6) and either I wasn't paying attention last time, or shit's changed drastically in the past 2 years or so. I dont' ever remember leasing a phone being an option, nor the installment plan.
I haven't done the math on this yet, but this looks like an L no matter which option you take.
Anyone have alternative phones they rockin (One +, Google, etc)?
I'm ready to be off this upgrading w/ the provider nonsense, but I still want a phone that's current.

price in one lump sum when it was time to upgrade. with the installment plans you're pretty much paying retail, just over 24 payments.
the phone i'm using now i paid like ten bucks for when i got it Haha. i really don't wanna upgrade. i mean, i'd like a better phone/camera, but i hate getting new phones.

Fuck Sprint and this lease bullshit. I'm not trying to pay for a phone I don't own at the end. At least when I move off this Note 2 I can give it to my son to let him play on.

But now we're on the unlimited jawn so we're paying a little bit more, but don't have to worry about running over anymore. If we did before we would pay the same or more than what the unlimited plan costs.

I'm not totally giving it up. I may go the prepaid route for the reasons you mentioned. leasing a phone is pointless to me because don't need to have the latest, greatest anymore.
besides, I intend to be home more....

Services like Jump! for T-Mo wrap their insurance and upgrade in the bill. Once you pay for half the phone (usually 12 months, right around the time new phones come in) you can turn the old phone in and upgrade, but you start the 2 year payment plan from scratch
Honestly, I would have liked to buy a phone outright, but sometimes it may not work out too well. I wanted to get a Sony Z3 Compact, which would work on T-Mo, but not all of the radio bands would work and wi-fi calling wouldn't work. So I ended up just getting the regular Z3 from T-Mo instead.

they have real hardware issues that they've failed to address. I loved that phone too, but I was having daily reboots, and that's with the replacement device they sent me after my first one had constant battery problems and died.

Last three phones were from Motorola. They had the 0% APR 18 months financing. I liked the customization. I keep all my old phones for back up, games, and VR.
