"I think it's highly likely Trump will be re-elected. "

Every time I read an article about Trump's approval rating sinking to a new low it makes my stomach queasy. Folks are taking a certain glee that Trump has been one of the fastest Presidents to reach an approval rating this low but all I can think is that the earlier you reach a Nadir, the sooner you start to rebound.

And it would be soo easy for him to rebound because it would look like this:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/white-house-mulling-replacements-reince-priebus-article-1.3029266

Get rid of Bannon and his more extreme policy goals and start running a typical Republican Administration, and because the bar has been set so low (by himself), Trump all of a sudden starts to look good.

I can feel it happening.

Fcuk.

Really depends on if the Dems get their shit together...

"Won" with 3 MILLION less votes. 90,000 GOOBERS in BUTTFUCK MY BRAINVILLE fell hard for his bullshit - so he was elected.

Two things:

1)If they can come up with a good "wedge issue" - they'll need another "gay marriage ban" year.

2)If the economy hasn't cratered by late 2019. It took 6 years for Bush to fuck the economy so bad even the Goobers saw it was bad.

you don't win the SB because you had the most yardage.

You don't win an NBA chip because you scored the most points in the series.

how about the Dems go to all those states they ignored and campaign next time around

they had before the election. So they claimed to be focused on trying to win the electoral college, not just the popular vote, the whole time. Then once they lost the electoral college, it was suddenly a bad thing.

Everything else is a side show.

If people in Western PA, Michigan, and Wisconsin feel better about their employment prospects, he has a very strong chance at re-election.

The voters that put him over the top don't care about Russia or any of his other scandals. Honestly, I don't even think the healthcare debate matters too much. It's jobs

are gonna tea party again and challenge him, with Democrats falling behind the sitting President in war time, and the public left to choose between the lesser of 2 evils in Trump and Bannon. and shame a progressive from being a "spoiler".

Meanwhile Exxon gets their pipelines at home and abroad, Dems and Repubs keep that corporate money, and civilians "debate" over where ________ people deserve some basic human right.

Lather. Simp. Repeat.

2020 is not the immediate threat. If a liberal SC judge retires while the Senate is still in Repub's hands, it's a wrap for this little 3rd Reconstruction era.

We need to use low mid-term turnout for everyone to our advantage.

The game of obstruct and deflect will then be run on the Republicans as they did President Obama for at least 6 years.

it all filters up. people running for school boards and mayor and shit right now are going to be candidates down the line.

and a revolution might actually be easier than breaking the gerrymandered hold on the house if we're not going to show up for these state elections.

The AARP got pissed after Trumpcare.

The middle class saw Trump's budget proposal and scoffed.

The college students that turned out see the dramatic decrease in education funding and are anti-Trump to an extent.

Republicans don't like the US government allowing ISPs to sell citizen's browsing history.

Trump's done nothing during his time in office to help the American people. Literally every executive action and policy is designed to screw over 99 percent of the country.

All of this means 2018 is crucial because if Dems can gain control to resist Trump then this situation can turn around.

AARP was on board with Obamacare, and right wingers deemed them a lefty organization a while back. Commercials on hannity and other shows have been trying to push some other AAsomething alternative group for a minute now lol

these trump regret stories pop up everywhere, but we saw the same types of stories with Obama. It's largely anecdotal. most of his supporters think he's doing great, and don't believe they're getting fucked. they get their news from Fox & Friends just like Trump does.

Democrats need to shuffle their leadership, or look like they have something to offer besides Trump being shitty. That strategy didn't work out so well in 2016, and will likely be far worse in 2018 up against gerrymandering and already low turnout.

44. "Reactions to Syrian attack:"
In response to Reply # 0

Nigel Farrage (pro-Brexit leader):

"I think a lot of Trump voters will be waking up this morning and scratching their heads and saying, 'Where will it all end? As a firm Trump supporter, I say, yes, the pictures were horrible, but I'm surprised, whatever Assad's sins, he is secular."

Justin Trudeau:

Canada fully supports the United States' limited and focused action to degrade the Assad regime's ability to launch chemical weapons attacks against innocent civilians."

United Kingdom Defense Secretary Michael Fallon:

"we fully support what the Americans have done, the strike was limited and wholly appropriate."

Marine Le Pen also appeared to distance herself from Trump, saying on Twitter that she "strongly condemned" the "horrible" strike on the Syrian airbase.
"Is it too much to ask that we wait for the results of an independent international investigation before carrying out a strike like this in Syria?" she told France 2 television on Friday.

Brietbart's Paul Joseph Watson:

"I guess Trump wasn't 'Putin's puppet' after all, he was just another deep state/Neo-Con puppet. I'm officially OFF the Trump train,"

Ann Coulter:

"Those who wanted us meddling in the Middle East voted for other candidates."

Milos Yiannopoulos:

"There comes a day in every child's life when his Daddy bitterly disappoints him."

Francois Holland and Angela Merkel also showed support for the strikes. Both claiming that "Assad is entirely responsible for the development of the situation."

Hard to see how this idealogical shift helps Trump. The people who support this shift will never vote for him. His idealogical base will never support this shift. It MIGHT help his approval ratings in the sense that people who will never vote for him will be pleased. But I highly doubt that any jump in his approval ratings would turn into actual votes in a re-election. I mean...those of us on this board who are actually knowledgeable about world affairs (and not just political cheerleaders) would tend to support this shift. Does that mean we're going vote Trump?

OKP logic:

*looks at Obama's high approval rating his 2nd term* "We will never have another black president in our lifetime!"

*looks at Trump's plummeting approval rating after 3 months* "looks like Trump gonna be re-elected!"
